Description: "Hang this mighty little filter inside your aquarium, supported by the tank rim, or attach it to the side using suction cups--Whisper In-Tank Filters are powerful and versatile. The submerged motor provides quiet and powerful filtration, making the filter useful for filled aquariums or low-water environments such as turtle tanks. Its position inside the tank allows aquariums to be moved flush to the wall, and positioning on a side allows a full view of your beautiful fishy friends without the distraction of filter boxes or power cords. Full two year warranty included. The Whisper In-tank Filters 20 and 40 use Whisper Large Bio Bag Cartridges, and the In-tank Filter 10 uses Whisper Small Bio Bag Cartridges." -Petsmart.com

Pros: Durability; ease of use; good filtration; low price
Cons: None so far

Great product. When I first got engaged in this hobby over two and a half years ago, I bought this filter for sixteen dollars. It has worked non-stop for that period, enduring power failures, sometimes missed maintenance, and endured the environemnts of goldfish to tropical to saltwater. Overall, an outstanding unit. It is silent, puts out minimal heat emissions into the aquarium, and very nice to use. Cleaning is easy, after unscrewing the bottom and cleaning the filter pad and impeller.
Many aspects of my tank have changed over the years, yet this filter has remained a constant, being a pioneer for saltwater filtration for me and assisting the primary filter of my tank in its duties. Overall, a great unit!

Pros: Simplicity, efficiency, low cost
Cons: cannot put as much filtration in bag as I would like, takes up room in small tanks

I was really impressed how much junk this thing filtered out of my water--it really passes a lot of water, and filters it efficiently. However, you are limited in how much additional stuff like bio-media or zeolite that you can add to the bag for a broader functionality, as you may have trouble with the width of the bag.
