The only filter of its kind with a patented self-priming, bottom mounted motor, the Magnum 350 provides the ultimate in power, performance, and easy setup and restart capability. The versatile Magnum 350 easily converts from quick-clean micron water polishing to everyday mechanical/chemical filtration. Water enters the canister, surrounds the carbon/media container (filled with 16 ounces of Black Diamond Premium Activated Carbon) or Micron Cartridge and flows through rather than around it. No bypass, just 100% total filtration. Advanced system design also allows you to connect the output to a Bio-Wheel PRO for superior wet/dry biological filtration or to the super-efficient Magnum Power Kleen Gravel Washer. And the Magnum 350's U/L listed synchronous motor and epoxy-encapsulated electrical components are your assurance of safe operation. Superior design and highest quality materials ensure unit strength, durability and smooth, trouble-free operation. Kit includes Magnum 350 Canister Filter, Micron Cartridge, Carbon/Media Container, 16 ounces of Black Diamond Premium Activated Carbon, two Magnum Quick-Disconnect Double Valves, Rite-Size Filter Sleeve, custom cleaning brush, intake extension tube (for deeper aquariums) and comprehensive, easy-to-follow instructions. Perfect for freshwater or marine. Performance tested 350 gallons per hour measured flow.

Pros: easy to hook up, great filtration
Cons: a little noisey

This filter was the cure to my cloudy water! I couldn't even see the back of my 75gal it was so cloudy/murky.
I discovered I had this in my garage and hooked it up. within 2 days my water was crystal clear and had stayed that way since. Its great for extra filtration when you stir up substrate/gravel.
It is really simple to hook up for a few days and then take off.
I don't know how well it does as a normal canister filter... but it solved my cloudy water problem!

Also, there is an attatchment for a gravel vac, which works wonderfully. You can clean your tank w/o having to replace water.

Pros: great as water polisher
Cons: easily clogged filter, fiddly to set up

Got this with my used tank & using it as return pump from sump. Due to height differential, output is only around 200 gph. I find the many different loose part a bit fiddly to set up, but once setup, it ran well, although a bit noisy.

I find the micron filter great for water polishing, getting rid of floating algae & muck stirred up during maintanance. However, the filter clogged up fairly rapidly & I have to clean it out at least once a week or the flow slows to a trickle.

Another irritating fact - micro bubbles from my wet/dry is trapped by the micron filter & end up as big bubble inside the filter. This does not seem to affect the performance, but it increases the noise significantly, so I have to purge the air every few days.
