Pros: Flexibility of product, Rim Clamp insted of Suction Cups, Canister Body separate from mechanical components, Micron Filter, Biowheel
Cons: Very Small Media Capacity

The Flexibility of this product is simply amazing, it's more than just a regular cannister filter. It can be a micron filter used for water polishing and the conversion process is simple. There is an optional biowheel that can really expand the biological filtration capabilities of the filter. The gravel vacuum can be used to provide very quick and easy tank maintenance.
The Rim Clamp is one of those features that seems so insignificant but is just such a nice touch. The superiority of the rim clamp over suction cups cannot be understated.
The media container can be filled with the carbon included or any other media of your choice. Quite Frankly the only dissapointment is the size of the media container, it's tiny, and seems even more so when compared with the size of the media containers for the other cannister filters. The biowheel can rectify this but it does add noise to an otherwise relatively noiseless machine. I personally do not have the biowheel attachment and use ceramic media with very good succes.
As said before it's pretty much noiseless, in a concealed tank stand you frankly can't hear it at all. Setting up the cannister at first seemed daunting with all the pieces but the directions were very good and it took about a quarter of the time to set up that I thought it would when I first openned the box.
As a secondary filter I would rate this as a 10, there simply is nothing that this filter can't do. As a primary filter it's probably more of an 8 since the media capacity is so small. Hence the 9.

Pros: quiet, powerful, flexible options
Cons: small media capacity

I agree 100% with everything the previous reviewer mentioned.

I found the assembly directions relatively simple to follow, ad it was fast setting it up. Maintenance is simple. This is a VERY quiet unit. I have the tank in my living room and you can not even hear it over the air pump (whisper 60). It has a lot of power and is excellent at circulating the water in the tank.

Of course having it under the tank is a nice option so you dont have to see it.

The flexibility is also nice. You can attach it to a biowheel if desired, you can seperate the intake/outlet tubes to opposite ends of the tank, or use the inclued bracket to have them together. There are optional spraybar attachements for the water return, or you can simply adjust the water return so that it comes in below or above the water line. Very nice flexibility IMO.
