How to keep bottom sediment to a minimum?

I noticed today in my 125gal that im having some trouble keeping the bottom as clean as i did in the 65gal. I have 2 minijet 1200s and 2 hydors (#4) in the tank so far. My rock is towards the back glass. Should i point one of my hydors more towards the bottom or is my thinking wrong. My...

is activated carbon and poly filters safe to use in a reef setup?

Awesome. From what I was reading I didn't think it would hurt anything. But I wanted to make sure the poly filter (since it removes phosphates) didnt have anything bad in it for the corals too.

is activated carbon and poly filters safe to use in a reef setup?

I have had FOWLR for 3 or 4 years now with no problems. I recently switched everything from my 65gal setup to my new 125gal setup. Water quality is fine an everything is in check. But before I start trying corals I wanted to know if it is still safe to run my canister filter with activated...

New 125 gal setup using canister filtration.

I am curious if anyone has done canister filtration on a 125gal salty tank with success. I have had no issues with my 65gal setup and cansister filter. The new 125gal is not drilled and I dont not wish to drill the tank or use a sump system. I understand the advantages to sump systems. But...

24-hr Cycle without Shrimp or Fish

I looked into that just now.. Read on some other forums that it looks like it works. The reviews I read they had great success... I also checked out the website FAQ. For saltwater it even explained that if you are curing live rock it helps speed the process as well. Could be interesting stuff.
