    cardinal tetras

I will say that you can successfully do cardinals in a community tank but it can be a PITA. I currently keep mine in less than ideal water conditions (ph from tap is 8.2, and gh is over 400 ppm) I do keep my temp on the high side around 82 F for a lot of my fish but everyone seems to be doing...

    40 gallon breeder

I personally love my pearl gouromi's, cardinal tetras, and flag fish. For a bottom dweller I use striata (zebra) loaches. Id suggest using aquadvisor to figure out numbers for each fish. Also whats your water like?, are you going planted or non?, and what filter?

    Sexing GBR

Also I took a look at the vents, in the first pic it's slightly visible and I'd describe it as a curved cone, the second one I couldn't get a good picture but it's more like a bump Sent from my VS980 4G using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Sexing GBR

Oh must not be a good picture but the black spot is full of blue, the ram is still pretty young so the other one is a little territorial still but they've been getting better, if not it's a 75 gallon tank they both have room Sent from my VS980 4G using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Sexing GBR

So I absolutely love my GBR and would like to know the sex of each. I believe I have a male and female but I can't tell for sure so I thought I'd ask for some help. Sorry about the cloudy water, I took these pics right after moving some plants around. I believe the first two pics are the male...

    Nitrates

I'm going to agree with everyone else in that your plants are probably using it all up, my tank had 0 until I started dosing ferts now I stay around 10 ppm. Also great looking tank :) Sent from my VS980 4G using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Small tank setup

For a 5 gallon you'll be looking at a few small fish you might be able to do something like a few guppies but thats about it, I was actually considering to get the chi to do a shrimp tank

    Water pump suggestion

Heres the pump, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018X2XT4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00 My garden hose is done via the included barb and a hose clamp because I think garden hoses leak to much for my indoor use. If you want an actual connector so that you don't need to cut...

    Water pump suggestion

I'm using a pond pump for my water changes, I think mines right at 400 GPH and it has a fair amount of pressure. It has a threaded 1/2 in connection that you could change to garden hose to do your watering I think your overall cost would be 25 for the pump and 5 for the adapter.

    Intro to breeding?

Thank you very much for the reply, with dividing the breeder tank I was going to make the dividers removable in order to be able to adapt the tank however I needed. For right now I I really want to get more of the experience and learn how to breed the different fish so definitely getting one of...

    Intro to breeding?

So I'm about 9 months into fish keeping and I'm addicted, one of my favorite parts is raising my Molly fry and I am interested in trying to breed some of my other fish. Currently once my Molly's give birth I catch the fry and place it in a hang one box with an air lift for a week or so and then...

    Hello everyone

I really like my kribs but once I get my 55 up and going, it'll be semi aggressive, so I will move them if they act up. I thought the aggressiveness was just while mating, which I plan on using a second tank to breed them. For my plant system: Lighting: Finnex stingray on for 10 hours a day...

    Bio-Wheel question

I have marineland on all of my tanks and I dont think any of my biowheels rotate anymore and my tanks are just fine, I noticed that problem on my emperor 400 as well with one wheel that went mach 1 and one that moved at one rpm. I believe that it was just a dirty filterpad that caused the...

    Black beard algae

So I've been fighting with BBA for a few months now and was hoping for advice. I have hit it with H2O2 and it died off where I spot treated but never fully went away and comes back, I've taken one of my decorations that had it and removed all of the algae and let it dry for a week to make sure...
