Hey all, I'll be setting up an 80 Gallon tank on Christmas day when I get the rest of my supplies. I got a bottle of Fritzyme 9 and I am wondering how many fish and what type should I be tossing in with the tank cycle for the ammonia. My first assumption is getting atleast one clown which I...

    Discus Belly Indented

Sorry not ignoring lol I kinda read it and knew what you meant. But now that you mention it they actually aren't picking on that one at all. They are actually all bugging each other except for that guy oddly.

    Discus Belly Indented

So I didn't mention that the reason I am concerned is the others bellys only bloat because I've fed them. I don't really think it's a worm thing unless you mean the one I was concerned about with the Indented belly in the picture. After the night the others bellys are back to normal.

    Discus Belly Indented

So it's safe to just get that deworm and use it in my whole tank?

    Discus Belly Indented

I have 6 discus and this specific one is actually a bit bigger than the others but it seems as though it's belly may be sunken in. Its not as vigorous as the others and it eats but not nearly as crazy or fast as the others. Definitely about a 1/2-1 inch bigger then the others not sure what other...

Monte Carlo and Dwarf Hair Grass growth problem

I have this wierd growth or decay on my plants. Now before the questions start rolling I'll answer what I can about my setup. Its an 80 Gallon Rimless no lid aquarium. I have a CO2 setup with an actuator that will shut the CO2 off when the pH starts getting too low. Around 6.6. The substrate...

    Live Bacteria after water change.

Just wondering if after you have an established tank if anyone still continues to use live bacteria after a water change, equivalent to the water change along with their water conditioner.

    Blue or Cherry shrimp care

Thanks for the info. I shall be patient. When do people generally do their first water change before they start going consistent?

    Blue or Cherry shrimp care

So algae pellets or left overs from the others wouldn't suffice?

    Blue or Cherry shrimp care

Ok will do I just posted another post about my nitrite and nitrates being 0 after 6 days still but I assume it still needs time to cycle even though that's what it says. I was just concerned about losing out on this shrimp deal. Wasn't sure how hardy they are.

Current tank readings as a 6 day old tank

So right now I am sitting at 0ppm on both of my nitrite and nitrate tests. My tank is 6 days old since cycling with zero water changes just added water with the proper chemicals to fill it up as part of the cycle. I was told I should have higher nitrites and nitrates when I bought the test kits...

    Blue or Cherry shrimp care

Just wondering I started a tank a few days ago and threw some tetras and plants in to start the cycle and speed things up a bit. Is it ok to put Blue or Cherry shrimp in this early to clean up the remainder foods and I assume I can maybe get some algae pellets or is it still way too soon...

    Best Sand Substrate

Ok so I have to get some sand for my 80 gallon. It is 24x48x16. I am going to need about 200 lbs of sand. I saw online doing alot of research many different opinions from people. Especially about not getting aquarium sand. Alot of posts people replied too said that the pockets in play or pool...

Soil Substrate amount for my Dimensions

I will be getting a aqueon canister filter. My tank is 80 so I'll probably get one rated up to 150. Yes I am going to go 100% white sand with rocks and plants. I am going to kind of put the sand on a hill aswell with some extra rocks for the plants. How do I get those compounds you mentioned...

Soil Substrate amount for my Dimensions

Once the sand becomes dead though wouldn't you want to get capsule to keep the nutrients going for the plants. Also as a side question do you think I should get a small wavemaker. It's a 48 long 24 wide 16 tall. Would it be good for the fish and plants. I was told compared to a salt water if...

Soil Substrate amount for my Dimensions

I did some research and I'm going to keep doing it but you're right eventually it all becomes inert and I actually prefer the look of sand. That being said with the nutrients you can get pods to put in the sand that gives them nutrients and actually lasts months at a time. What kind of pods what...

Soil Substrate amount for my Dimensions

Sand for plants though? Shouldn't there be atleast a layer underneath with aquarium soil.

Soil Substrate amount for my Dimensions

Those actually end up being more expensive. Also on Amazon you get even less.

Soil Substrate amount for my Dimensions

Still cost me around 300$. Feels a bit much right now only cause the custom tank alone cost me so much.
