    Freshwater Ray Discussion

That's a beauty. I have always wanted a big saltwater indoor pond, but the salt costs would be killer and the filtration for marine species would cost a lot of dough too. Not that I think this will be cheap lol.

    Freshwater Ray Discussion

Well according to my drawings in the area of my basement it was going to go in it would be 15,000 gallons...I think I will make it 1.5 feet deep instead of 2 as well as remove the gates off area that would be 488 square feet and use that area for filtration. Dang. I can't afford this much space...

    Freshwater Ray Discussion

Ok thanks. I wonder how aquariums do that. I'm not sure I would end up doing it but it would be a good option if I know I'm going to have curious little hands near the tank on a holiday or something.

Do they file/ remove them? I have read that they loose them naturally every so often and sometimes they are found in the sand while cleaning and will still cut you.

Well I mean I have obviously watched the video, but that doesn't mean that is the ideal filtration for a similar system.

Also do they make underwater lights for ponds small enough to be practical for this system?

Larger tetras, gouramis, danios, rasboras, and cory cats should all work.

Does "Tanked" or "Fish tank kings" bug anybody else?

Ya. If anything they set it up and stock it in that short time then take the fish back to atm and keep them in holding tanks until the tank is actually ready.

People not taking care of their fish - rant

To me it comes down to which is worse: A fish in a tank that is too small with well maintained water or a fish that is in a huge tank with dirty water. The fish with they dirty water will die a lot faster than the fish in the smaller tank. I doubt fish can tell much of a difference between a 5...

What's your favorite fish in the ocean???

Probably whale sharks or manta rays, but if we can pick mammals it's killer whales all the way! I also have a thing for bicolor bennies ? ??

Does "Tanked" or "Fish tank kings" bug anybody else?

Sea World actually has some systems in their education classrooms behind the scenes that ATM made. Not all of their tanks are insane. Actually I was pretty jealous of these systems tbh

Does "Tanked" or "Fish tank kings" bug anybody else?

People don't exactly watch that show for aquarium advice though. It is designed purely for entertainment. I feel like Fish Tank Kings shows more consideration for that animals than Tanked does. Tanked is all about the crazy unnatural themes of the tanks me what they can put inside of them to...

    Stocking Info for 5 gallon

I personally love nano shrimp tanks. I have a saltwater nano shrimp tank, but have been dying to set up a freshwater one. Bettas a great fish too though. You can find some really stunning ones on websites like aquabid. They are trainable too. ??

I also agree Angelfish are great. I kept them for a friend for a short time after her tank started to leak. They are great fish and everyone seems to love them.

    Hello

Hello everyone! I have been keeping aquariums for four years now and have been assisting in the care of aquariums for five. I decided to get my own aquarium after I was one of the primary caregivers to a reef tank for a year. Unable to afford saltwater at the time I began a 29 gallon freshwater...

    Freshwater Ray Discussion

I have been in the brain storming phase of a freshwater stingray tank for a while now, but I can't decide on the best way to go about constructing the tank the way I wild like it done. Right now I'm leaning towards is a build similar to that of this tank http://youtu.be/OtVt0xRW-bI Instead of...

Of course the temperament of those cichlids chosen would have to be considered. Rams are a good option.

I would recommend an Amazonian tank with some cory cats, tetras, and SA Cichlids.
