I do not know what the par is on the light. This is the EcoTech Radion XR15 G5 FW. I have not read all the white paper on it. I can tell you that I have it on a daylight ramp and at max point it is only at 40% intensity. It is very adjustable to the the point I can customize every channel...

Yep, I have been through this more than once setting up tanks over the last 30 years. This one got out of hand because I was not around to deal with it as it was happening. Not a big deal. I have managed through worse and since I have yet to stock the tank with fish or shrimp I'm not too worried.

So it has been a bit since my last update but in my defense I have not been around to make one. The tank has gone a little crazy (hair algae) CO2 related issues. I have sorted those out and will spend the next couple of weeks dialing things back in. I was out of town on business trips off...

So I unpacked something last night. I figure it is time to put the big gun on this tank. I want to be able to turn on and off the CO2 at the appropriate times. The manual method isnt going to cut it for me during the week.

Both are great contenders! I will likely not stock the tank for a couple more weeks. It needs to settle in.

Pretty much all plants require some amount of CO2. I am injecting so they have a consistent supply.

Quick update. Did a water change and planted the new plants. Also started the CO2. I am going to have to dig out my regulator and use a full size bottle so I can have the CO2 come on before lights on and out before lights out. The manual thing isn't going to work for me. Anyway here are a...

For this little thing it was not worth going through all that, besides LEDs have come a long way since I was building my own lights. The tank will be filled today. I ordered more plants, they should arrive before Wednesday.

Thank you!! I just got back with a different heater. The one that came with the tank was silver and white and would have stuck out. I wanted a very small one but hey were all preset to 78 and I do not like keeping my tanks that warm. Opted for a black one that should be hidden by plants once...

Even if it came tank ready I would still boil it. Just a precaution to kill of anything that may be on the wood and to help it get waterlogged.
