    Tiger Barb color fading

    2 or 3 of my Tiger Barbs seem to be losing their bright color. Their black stripes are looking a little grayish, and just not as a black as remember them being. Any one have ideas what's going on? Any suggestions as to what I can do?

    Tiger Barbs in 8.0pH. Is it okay?

    My pH has been a steady 8.0 during the cycling process and continues to stay at 8.0 one week after the cycle finished. My question:Is it okay to keep Tiger Barbs and Otocinclus' in a tank with a pH of 8.0?

    Filter is keeping me up

    The stream of water that pours down from my HOB filter is making a rather noisy splash to some of the water in the tank evaporating. I want to top off the tank in order to fix this problem, but I want to first know if this okay to do considering that I'm cycling my tank?

    cycling mishap

    As I was starting the cycling process I over estimated the amount of ammonia to put in. Now my readings are over 5ppm. I think this is probably too high can this be lowered with a simple, partial water change?

    I want to start the "cycling" process on my new tank, but the only ammonia I can find is yellowish loking, lemon-scented brand. Will this type be okay for the process?

    1st time poster has ? about new tank

    Hi all. I just finished setting up a 20 gallon aquarium kit I bought at Walmart, and I'm sure you'll all be happy to know that I have not put any fish in, nor do I plan to until I've "cycled" my tank. The set up I have has one of those hang on the back filters that drops the stream of water...
