    Media clogging pump chamber

I ran all tests with the Master API test kit. The day it cycled I left 5 more days after that to test the water before I put the fish in. :thanks:

    Tank transfer

I'm not sure if taking the beneficial bacteria from your old tank to your new tank is a good idea until you find out what is causing these deaths. A bigger tank is easier to maintain and zebra danios unfortunately need to be in a group of 6 or more to be healthy and happy. I know it's a pain...

    Media clogging pump chamber

Oh I see!! Yeah I do have too much media in there. When I cycled my tank I also ran an Aquaclear 20 HOB on the back. I took the media from that and added it to my baskets. I think that is what the problem is. I don't wanrt to take anything out since it has only been cycled for 15 days. Thanks:)))

Pump for a 16 gallon Fluval spec

Hello all:)) I recently purchased and cycled a spec 16 gallon and the pump that came with it is not so good. I tried the Mighty jet AIO pump but it is a hair too long. I am looking for an AIO (All in one) pump that is no longer than 3.5 inches in length for no more than $200.00 with a remote. I...

    Media clogging pump chamber

Hello everyone hope you are enjoying your day:) I just completed a fishless cycle with ammonia on a Fluval spec 16 gallon in 10 days. I waited until 5 days after that to add any fish. My pump chamber is clogged because I have too much media in my baskets. I was wondering if it is safe now to...

Hello and thank you so much for your reply. I am attaching the photo that didn’t upload. I also sought advice from other fish communities and the overwhelming response is that the yellow patches are normal. Not sure how true that answer is but thought I would mention it. I will try dimming the...

    Depressed or sick betta

Hello and thank you for your concern:)) He is still sulking in the corner in a plant or on the floor looking at the wall. I think he may feel exposed in his new environment and very stressed from it and the move. He is still eating and blowing bubble nests and patrolling the tank. I am doing...

    Depressed or sick betta

I recently bought a 20 gallon high tetra color fusion and the only place it would fit is where the 6 gallon fluval edge with my betta Charlie in it. Unfortunately I had to move Charlie and his 6 gal across the room. A day after I moved him I had to go out of town but only for one day. Well when...

Hello everyone I am in the process of cycling a 20 gallon high and the only place it fits is right by the window. I put up a backing but as you can see in the pic it is still getting way too much light on the left. I read that filters with a skimmer and UV sterilization help with algae growth...

Thanks!!! Need more advice please:)) Hello and sry about the late response. I went ahead and removed the carbon from the resealable filter floss and added Fluval small bio rings to the bag. I really don't like this Whisper 20 HOB filter. The output GPH is a little to low for my needs and it...

use of carbon in a fishless cycle using flakes

Hello all I have a question please. I am fairly new to the fish world so please bear with me. I read that when doing a fishless cycle to not use carbon as it will remove all the ammonia needed for a cycle. Is this true? I have a tetra whisper 20 on the way and it uses biobags with carbon in it...

    Gravel cleaner!!

Please please someone tell me If anyone has had any success with a battery operated gravel cleaner for a 6 gallon fluval edge that is only 8 inches in height. Squeezing filter media

Great info Thanks so much for replying!! I did use the water from a water change, I should have been more specific:) It is a relief to know that I did not destroy my bacteria colony. I will definitely use the old water for my plants...Hope you enjoy your day:flowers:

    Squeezing filter media

Thank you Thank you so much for the information:) That is exactly what I did in the water from a change. I was just a bit concerned that I squeezed out all the good bacteria. I now know that isn't true and feel much better. I didn't want to cause another cycle. Have a great day:thanks:
