    Adding salt to a freshwater tank

    I read that adding salt to protect slime coat and reduce stress is 3 tablespoons for every 5 gallons of water. This seems excessive to me. Any thoughts?

    Cleaning the outside of my tank

    I have this white stuff on the outside of my tank that won't come off, you can barely see it but it makes that part of the tank look cloudy and I can't get it off. I've tried a razor blade and Windex so far. Any ideas?

    I'm not finding any useful info about treating a fungal infection. Right now I'm using API pimafix, and added salt to the tank and took out the carbon. Does anyone have any good tips or advice?

    I see a lot of people saying not to replace filter cartridges. But if there are bio sponges that are always there collecting and distributing beneficial bacteria there shouldn't be a problem??

    I have a nerite snail that I keep finding on his back. I keep flipping him over but then I find him on his back again. Is this normal? Should I keep flipping him back over?

    Fish dying off

    My fish are dying and don't know why. My water is perfect and I'm treating for gill parasites now. Anyone have any other ideas of what it could be? No visible symptoms I can see.

    I got a baby tiger Oscar for my 40 tall. Does anyone have a good opinion on this? I've seen a lot of contradicting opinions. I may have to take him back
