    What is this stuff?

Well, thanks for the help guys, but all my little gups are dead. The only thing left alive are the nerite snails and they seem happy as a clam. I think I'm going to fix that algae problem and try adding some plants then get a different livestock. Thinking maybe rasboras. Again thanks for your help!

    What is this stuff?

So recently my fish have been dying off and tonight I found this on my intake sponge. If anyone knows what it is and how to gut it off of this it would be much appreciated!

Advice on How to Choose Breeding Stock

If you find a strain you like, buy a trio or two and breed those in its own tank without any other fish or different strains. Then as the fry come out, any that grow up without the traits you want, sell/humanly kill them. Remove them from the gene pool as fast as possible. If you really...

    everything is orange

Yes this happened to my tank. It was 2 weeks old and I took out the items and scrubbed them free from the stuff. I did a PWC and in about two weeks it was completely gone. I had the stuff all over the fake plants and gravel. I have not encountered any since.

    Outdoor summer tub

Hello everyone! I hope your holidays were good. I was thinking about starting a outdoor summer pond. Obviously it's a little far away but can't hurt to prepare! I live in SoCal so it gets pretty warm here in the summer and I would like to know what plants would do well with guppies. I have...

    Is duct tape safe

Thank you. I wanted to make sure that it won't leech anything that would be toxic.

    Is duct tape safe

So recently my old gravel vac came apart and I was wondering what could fix it. I know silicone would fix it but I don't want to have to put it back together. Does anyone know if duct tape would be ok? At most it will spend 1 1/2 minutes under water.

    How many endlers?

Oh sorry. Yes with the proper filtration you could have upwards of 14. My apologies for the misunderstanding.

    Stocking

I think that would be fine. Not much experience with those but sound ok

    How many endlers?

I would suggest starting with six. 3-3 each sex. They will reproduce and regulate the population. For plants use dwarf hair grass or something similar for fry and shrimp to live in. As long as you keep the water clean you could have up to 20 at a time.

    Stocking

Well the tiger barbs will be the only thing that will have much aggression in the tank and you could add more fish. As long as the water quality remains good your set.

    Stocking

It depends on fish, filtration and aggression. What fish are you looking at and how much filtration is on your tank?

    Setting up 10 gal planted

Hey everyone, I've set up a 2nd, low tech planted tank. It's already cycled and has fry in it. I was wondering what plants I should put in. I have regular gravel and wonder what I should put in. Should I leave it? I have guppies so they need harder water. I currently have fry in it. I could by...

    Stocking ideas

I'm partial to guppies but if you don't want a lot of fish, try neons or cardinals.

    Missing fish!?

While it is possible for the corys to eat them, you would probably see the body as the other fish will feed on the slime coat first then leave the body to decompose a little. Check around the tank. It's not unusual for fish to be spooked and jump. Also are there ammonia burns on the other fish?

Thanks. I wasn't sure. It's a neighbors tank and they didn't know either
