    Black-Clawed Crab

I didn't even think about that. I do have a sumo so I'll just do that. Thanks for the idea.

    Black-Clawed Crab

I couldn't really tell ; I would say he was the size of half my palm. As for the star fish that's good to know. Apparently the guy who got the starfish must have been new because he grabbed the starfish from the tank and put him on the bag without surrounding him with water so that maybe made...

    Black-Clawed Crab

Hey there, As I notice some coral decaying I took a red light and looked through my tank a couple of nights. I found a black-clawed crab in the tank that I didn't add so I'm thinking he was a hitchhiker when I got a couple of new coral from my local Petco. I also noticed later on that my red...

Stocking my 29 gallon reef tank

That would be my suggestion simply because breaking down a reef tank or saltwater tank is tough work. You never know what will last and what won't.

Stocking my 29 gallon reef tank

The great thing about any saltwater tank is that they normally take longer to establish and the growth rate of the coral and fish aren't very fast at all. But if you are already thinking about a bigger tank I would recommend using the money for that. When I first started with a 10 gallon nano...

    Filteration

So if that's the case what do I do to fix it. My fish can only stay on the smaller tank for so long I believe. But I need a fast solution. I thought 6 months would be long enough cycle. But maybe not.

Stocking my 29 gallon reef tank

I'm not sure your end game but of you plan on upgrading and getting bigger tanks in the future a baby tomini tang gets along with everything. That was my experience. But you will need to move him into a larger tank if you went that route.

    Filteration

Hey all I am opening a thread to see what else I can do to get rid of nitrites in my 30 gallon saltwater tank. I've done water changes consistently and I've used chemicals such as prime and QuickStart and a special Hellen's mixture that smells horrid. All my love stock are out of the tank so I...

    Nitrites

No I appreciate the input. The only two chemicals I've added is the water conditioner for my tap and then prime. But I've only used a small portion of prime because I'm not a big chemical person.

    Nitrites

My ammonia is reading fine. Nitrates are fine but my nitrite is in the stress/ danger level. The tank is a 30 gallon tank I'm running 2 circulation fans in it. My water filter is the Aqua Clear Fluval for the 50 gallon tank. I have 30 pounds of sand in the tank and 40 pounds of live rock. I...

    Nitrites

The kits are fairly new. I took my love stock out and placed them in my maintenance tank I use when it does these spikes. I recently added an bubble tip but I'm not sure if that would spike it.

    Nitrites

My nitrites have been spiking lately I've been having this problem since I started my tank back in 2015. There was a time when my water was perfect after the first cycle so I then began adding the fish and coral that I wanted. Lately the spikes have been occurring More often. I only feed once...
