    Stocking Advice

I moved house with my 90g in August, so now it's had time to stabilise, I want to start building my stock levels up. I currently have 1 x Koi Angel 7 x Lemon Tetra 1 x Green Dragon BN 5 x Sterbai Cories 5 x Oto I am thinking of adding a school of around 10 Diamond tetra but I'm stuck between...

    Lemon Tetra - Bent Spine

Around a week or two ago I noticed that one of my lemons has developed a bent spine. I did a bit of research and really scared myself a bit (my never Google your symptoms rule will now apply to my fish). He has no other symptoms, he's swimming fine, eating well, no loss of colour or wounds...

    Ram Sexing Help

I'm starting to realise that myself. I've looked at loads of photos and how to posts but still no clue. I'm pretty sure fish 2 is male but that's as far as I can get. They seem to have split the tank into thirds and each have their own patch right now so it could be worse.

    Ram Sexing Help

Ok, I'm not ashamed to admit I have no clue and would appreciate some help please. I asked my aquatics shop for one male and 2 female bolivian rams but after getting them home I think at least 2 of them are male. Can anyone help me out with sexes from the pictures below.

    Unknown pH drop?

Have you got any wood in the tank? Even if it isn't staining the water, driftwood leaches tannins for a long time and can cause a PH drop

    Aquarium Safety

Mine is on a power strip with built in surge protector and never had any issues. Just don't forget to put drip loops on all cords so any water doesn't hit the plugs

    Best Siphon for Sand?

I just hold my siphon a little bit above the sand and move it in little circular motions to stir up the debris lying on the top without moving the sand

Post your full tank shot here.

Recently re-scaped and re-planted so just waiting for the plants to fill in a bit

New 22 gal tank not totally on a table?

If the bottom of the tank isn't fully supported it puts pressure on that spot and can cause the tank to crack or the seals to burst

    Best Sand for Corydoras?

I use cheap pool filter sand I got off eBay and they love it. If you can see it in person before you buy just try rubbing a little bit between your hands, if it hurts you it will probably hurt them

    Play Sand as Substrate?

I can second the above from experience. Spend hours rinsing playsand only to have it make a catastrophic mess when I got it in the tank. Switched to pool filter sand, swirled it in a bucket of water to get rid of any dust and it was great. Not sucked up by the filter or syphon when doing water...

    White patch on cory

When i was feeding this evening I noticed that one of my sterbai cories had a badly ripped tail and on closer inspection he has a white patch just behind his dorsal fin. I've not had much experience with fish illness/injury but my fist panicked thought was that it looks like columnaris but it...

What do you feed your corys?

My tetras will do the same to my cories wafers if they get a chance. I use Hikari micro pellets for the tetra and sprinkle these at one side of the tank so they all rush to the surface for them, then I drop a couple of Hikari sinking wafers in the other side for my cories. The tetra are usually...

    Bolivian rams or not

It's only just cycled and it took forever, at least it was planted so it looked good. I moved the existing fish from my old tank last weekend so I'm letting it have an adjustment period before I add any more. I always get nervous about adding too many fish to a new tank.

    Bolivian rams or not

Great thanks. Now I just have to control myself and only add a few fish at a time lol

    Bolivian rams or not

I've just set up and cycled a 90g tank. At the minute it's got 7 harlequin Rasbora and 4 panda cories. I'm thinking of taking them up to 10 of each and adding 3 honey gourami. I've read so many conflicting things about Bolivians. Would they be ok with the fish I have and how many/what sex should...

    Cloudy water

No matter how well you rinse it some sand can make water cloudy until it settles. Turn your filter on and let it run for a while.

    Corydoras Fish Compatibility

I've got a school of copper harlequin tetra in with my cories. Their colours are really bright so they make a good contrast and they're really active so fun to watch. I agree with changing the electronics that came with the tank though they aren't usually the best quality.

    29g stocking

My filter is a fluval u3 so filtration isn't an issue. I was just wondering if 2 schools would be ok in a tank that size or if I should stick with one school and make it bigger

    29g stocking

While I'm saving for a bigger tank (it's solid oak stand and hood so will take a year or so before I can afford it) I wanted to add a few more fish to my 29g. At the minute all I've got in there are 5 harlequin Rasbora and 15-20 cherry shrimp. I was thinking of adding 5 peppered cories and...

    90g Stocking Question

I'm in the process of saving up for an upgrade, 90g, 4’x2'. As this is the biggest tank I've ever had (and the biggest I can fit in the space I have) I want to make the most of it. I was thinking of upping the schools I have and maybe adding another school of Kitty Tetras but I want a...
