Came home today to find out my oscar has jumped out of my 55 gallon tank and was on the floor in front of the tank
He was housed with a synodontis catfish and a jack Dempsey
The tank is mainly covered there are ends that are not for about 4 inches
I tested the water
Ph 7.2
Ammonia 0 ppm...

My tap water Ph comes out at 8.4
Should I mix my tap water with nuetral regulator before adding to my aquarium since I try to keep that ph at 7.2
I have 72 gallon planted tank filtered by a fluval 406
I looking to get more surface movement with the water since the output only creates good movement on one side of the tank. Is it ok to place a small air stone on the opposite side to create more surface movement or are there other options...

I did 50 percent water change. Cleaned gravel well and replaced carbon in filter
I am now nothing that I have 0 ammonia .25 nitrite 0 nitrate
I did a water change brought everything to 0
