Best Site to Buy Plants From?

I have always had good luck on Www.aquabid. Com lots of different sellers. Shipping always seemed reasonable and many sellers alloy you to combine fish with plants if you chose to. Just shop around. Lots of good listings!

    Looking for a centerpiece fish

I have always been a fan of Endlers livebearers. If you get all males you won't have babies. They are quite colorful. Black bar endlers were my favorite! I would buy them NClass wild stock which means they were untainted with. But I use to breed these. They are peaceful, flashy and hardy.

    Sailfin molly alone

Agree. Fish like humans prefer company. You would need to get other fish of good size, his size or larger. Mollies are not exactly community tank fish. You could try maybe some blue ran chichlids, but then again those can breed too lol. But the good thing is that nature takes care of its...

    Is this behavior normal?

Been doing this for over 30 years. Never had a problem but would agree your location may cause a problem.

    Is this behavior normal?

I don't know where you live but if it's possible to put a 5 gallon bucket outside away from the house and fill it with water, mosquitoes will lay their eggs in there. They start a new colony every 7 days. Get yourself a fine mesh net and a bowl. Go out and check your bucket in about 2 weeks...

    Is my platy pregnant?

Most pregnant live bearers from my experience get a dark spot on their bum. Not in my picture my blue female spotted platy, she will be having her babies in about 2 weeks. Also, are the other fish picking on your goldfish. Many keepers of goldfish and koi, like myself, will tell you that...

What is your favorite fish to keep and why?

Very cool Splattered! I never really cared for catfish (love corydoras though!) very much. My reason is that they eat my other pet fish lol. I totally understand what you say though and they are a fish that can survive just about anything and they are very diverse. It makes me think about...

What is your favorite fish to keep and why?

What is your favorite fish to keep and why? I have so many favorites but as I sit here today watching my fish like I do everyday I realized that I have had so much fun watching my fish! Each fish has its own little personality. You have the butt lick of the tank and the fish with the most...

    Peacock Gudgeons, more info please...

My knowledge is very limited on these but I'm not sure how people would confuse them as the peacock appears much more colorful than the purple spotted ones no?

    Peacock Gudgeons, more info please...

I went to a newer pet shop in my area yesterday and asked someone there about peacock gudgeons there. One of the things he mentioned is that they don't like dad moving water in the tank. Unfortunately I have a good current going in my tank with a powerful filtration system. I'm thinking that...

My 55 gallon fresh community tank

Thank you so much for the info! No I love snails. There is a lot of colorful ones. Even Bertie snails have awesome patterns on their shells. Bertie need salinity in their water like brackish water in order to breed and lay eggs so in a fresh water tank they are never invasive. They clean your...

My 55 gallon fresh community tank

Hi guys! Thank you! Is there a way to edit my message? I obviously have some spelling and autocorrect issues lol. I do love snails, nerite snails help you keep your tank clean and my Chocolate Poso rabbit snail does the same but it's really old. I don't know what their life span is but I have...

    Cherry shrimp

Breading red cherry shrimp is very easy. They pretty much do all the work on their own. Keeping a clean tank is necessary just like any other fish. All the parameters are the same like any other fish. I always used to use a 10 gallon tank with an air set up for Filtration it's like a tiny little...

how to get rid of snails

I know it sounds gross but crush them with your finger. Your fish and shrimp will eat them. You will have to physically remove them from your tank. Be diligent on removing edd masses too when you see them. I had assassin snails in all my breeder tanks. I'm pretty sure I had some in my shrimp...

    Algae Bloom won't go away.

Def limit your light use. Free floating algae needs light to grow. It sounds like you have great filtration. I had this issue with my water gardens every spring and I learned that adding oak flowers to the pond helped ( I collected them as they fell) They also had a product that clumped the...

How many neon tetras can I have in a 10 gallon tank?

If you are just starting with a new set up you want to have only a few fish to start. Let the nitrites and nitrates settle in and let the good stuff grow before introducing too many fish at once. Once your tank is established you may want to add a few more and eventually, if you have good...
