    Newer to hobby

Some people would tell you otherwise, but I also think a 10g is sufficient for those fish as long as you keep up with the water changes. One thing corys really appreciate is a sand substrate, so if you have gravel you could really improve the quality of their life with sand.

Please help re Dwarf Gourami behaviour!

That's pretty cool that you were able to get a pair. I've never seen a female dwarf gourami in stores.

    Platty

The stripes look like a natural color pattern. It's good to keep an eye on the fish just in case, but I wouldn't worry if it's acting normally.

    15 Gallon overstocking?

Honestly I would only do a pair of Bolivians in a 15, and that is only if I knew for sure they were a pair. If you had a pair they would not take kindly to the cories during breeding.

    is my tank overstocked

I think a 29 for a single angelfish is acceptable, although not great. The real problem is when the angelfish grows out and decides he doesn't like his tank mates anymore. I have a 29 with a female Angelfish by herself because she does not like any company. She is very aggressive and even...

    one bully fish

It might help if you can give a complete list of the number and each type of fish you have. Green Tiger Barbs can be nippy toward other fish. I usually kept them in their own tank.

    White Spot!

This is always the first thing I try when I spot ich and it's always worked for me. You could attempt to treat the ich with heat. Slowly raise the temperature to 86f, no more than 1 degree per hour. Keep it at 86 for 2 weeks.

    Mystery Snails

What kind of fish do you have? They may eventually lose interest if the mystery snails are new. My best advice to you is to put a pre-filter sponge over your filter intake. My first mystery snail died while trying to crawl over my AquaClear 70 intake. I would also blanch some vegetables...

Still Looking for a small Carnivore/Omnivore

I completely agree with everything you said about Angelfish. I know some people have had success keeping them with neons, and I have had one Angel ignore them in the past but that usually is not the case.

Still Looking for a small Carnivore/Omnivore

I've never had an angelfish that jumped, but I've heard her smack into the tank lid a few times trying to get those bubbles. I had two Bolivian Rams with her, but she made their lives miserable so they had to go somewhere else.

    Finrot? Fungus? Tumor?

It almost looks like a single ick spot in the top picture, but that is all I can see. One spot is surely not definitive.

Still Looking for a small Carnivore/Omnivore

I would bet that an Angelfish would not ignore the fry. My Angelfish tries to kill air bubbles.

What's your favorite fish to keep?

    That's actually pretty cool.

    Temp

No, that's a good temp for them.

What's your favorite fish to keep?

I would love to set up an Oscar tank one day. For right now I'd have to say Angelfish. Goldfish and Paradise fish are contenders, but I really like any fish that seems personable even if it's just in my head.

HELP!!! White creatures on rocks and wood

They may be copepods. If so I don't believe they are dangerous, in fact it seems that some people want them in their tanks. It looks like frequent water changes will eventually get rid of them.

    fin rot fear

Since you have a cory catfish it's important not to treat with aquarium salt. If the disease has not progressed too far I would start by performing frequent water changes, perhaps everyday or every other day. I would do 50%, but no less than 25%. In my experience that is enough to reverse the...

    Fish-in cycle getting close hopefully

Yeah, it looks the same to me too. I'm not sure what this means for where you are at with your cycle.

    Fish-in cycle getting close hopefully

So your nitrates are staying at a consistent 5-10? It's possible your tap water has these nitrates present normally. You could test your tap water for nitrates if you haven't already.

    Fish-in cycle getting close hopefully

You'll want to keep watching for nitrites as well. I always double dose the tank with prime every 24 hours if I'm cycling and there are detectable nitrites or ammonia. It sounds like you're on top of it. I don't like to let ammonia or nitrites go above .25 when I'm doing a fish in cycle.
  23. Laser

I think my fishless cycle is done! Quick question about next steps.

I would not add any ammonia after the water change, because then you'll just be starting out with nitrates by the time the fish get in there. You have a biofilter like a freight train right now and they aren't all going to survive after you stock the tank, unless you plan on doing a heavy...
