    Rainbows and Neons Tetra mix

they school ocaisionally. If they felt threatened, they'd tighten up and school closer and more often. They seem pretty relaxed. I feed them daily though.

    Rainbows and Neons Tetra mix

I have a 2 rainbows in a 30 gal tank with 10 neons , they all get along great. Mind you I have a lot of plants and hiding spots, but I never see any evidence of aggression.

Recommend some cold water fish for a desk setup

I have had a cold water office tank for about 3 months. My office is fairly warm though. I just put in a tiny basic filter, and have been successfully keeping neons, and a khuli loach. Theyre doing great. My office temp is around 75 degrees. I do have to change the water weekely though, about 30...

    Kuhlii Loach

I never have a freshwater tank with out some khulis. They look cool. often they hide, but they do come out and run around. They seem playful at times. They also freak out when you clean the substrate. Theyre very peaceful non-aggressive fish. Highly recommend getting at least 2, if not 4.

    My fish - extreme closeups

Canon Powershot A630. I put the macro on, aimed at about a 45 degree angle from the glass, flash on. I fed the fish, and waited for 5 mins....they were much more lethargic. Took about 20-30 shots. Saved 5 of them.

Ok, whats the deal on "moss balls" ??

yeah it comes off pretty easily. If I let it go, it looks really bad - I can hardly see the fish through the green haze. I have a fancy magnet scraper , and it works great.

Ok, whats the deal on "moss balls" ??

I seeee....then I would assume they'd absorb some of the phosphates/nitrates and stuff that algea love.

Ok, whats the deal on "moss balls" ??

no, i have a few freshwater plants as well, but I still get green algea on my glass. I have to scrape it off once a week, on average. Not a big problem, but annoying.

Ok, whats the deal on "moss balls" ??

Would you say it might out-compete green algea for nitrates ?

Ok, whats the deal on "moss balls" ??

At a pet store, I saw some green "moss balls" on the bottom of a tank - they were selling for 5 $ each. Why would I want to put them in my tank ?? Are they strictly for decoration ?
