    Material Safety Data Sheets

My house is off city water, and our tap water has a little nitrite in it but no chlorine. I use out filtered drinking water for waterchanges and do no treatment for it at all. No problems with it for the last 3 years. If you have chlorine though it’s important to get it out... with cuty water...

AqAdvisor - Intelligent Freshwater Tropical Fish Aquarium Stocking Calculator and Aquarium Tank/Filter Advisor Use this site to see if your fish are compatible. At the bottom of this site it will tell you if the fish are compatible or not or if they need more fish of one type or anything. Much...

    Help Me

I would suggest bristlenose plecos as they dont get more then around 8inches generally. Unless you have a massive pond dont do common plecos!

    This dosent make any sense

Get that ammonia level below .5 immediately! Using some prime water conditioner in the mean time while you do your water changes should help lower the toxicity of that ammonia and nitrite. Some of those quick starts just add nitrates to the tank and don’t actually help with cycling. There are...

    just filled up tank- cloudy!

Agreed that a picture would help, could be sediment from the substrate, or water from the tap... how long did you soak the driftwood for? I want to start doing more stuff with driftwood myself.

Please help. Healthy orander suddenly died

What is the scientific name of the fish? That is so sad! Its really hard when a fish friend passes, it could have been something internal, a lingering issue from before you got the fish (especially considering it had fungus before you even had it), or old age. I am unsure how long this type of...

Cichlids are usually quite territorial, I would check and check the compatibility warnings at the bottom.

    Planted aquarium help

The plants are “melting” which means they are adjusting to their new home. Was your tank already cycled? It looks like the cycle slowed on you with the ammonia and nitrate amount. Melting plants will produce ammonia so you might want to do more water changes until you start to see new growth on...

    Vacation Feeding: Feeder Blocks

Its too much food generally and seems to cause an ammonia spike. I would just overfeed a little bit the day before and if its too long have a good friend housesit and store the correct amount of food in ziplocks on a pill container, not my idea but it works great!

    Can i???

It looks like that size of tank is too small. Generally you want to plan for the full size of fish when you put them in a tank, so a fish that gets as big as a dinner plate should have a lot of room, angelfish can get quite large and thus should probably have more then 50 gallons of space to...

    Possible Water Issue

Potentially a change in pH? I dont know why it would effect the cichlids so greatly... did the wood effect the water of whatever it has been soaking in?

    Am I over stocked?

Depending on where you supplied the fish could be the issue for the guppies. I havent had good luck with any typical store ones, but great luck with specific local aquarium places. Also is your water temperature different? If you can currently I would put one of those intake sponges (fry guard...

    Very aggressive Male Dalmatian Molly

One thing that could potentially help is more females to disperse his aggression a little more. Sometimes though some fish just are more aggressive then the rest and cause trouble.

    Can i???

It would be easier to understand and answer your posts if you kept them all in one tread instead of making new ones each time, just reply to one of yours for each new question you have. This is great for stocking and water change suggestions https://aqadvisor.com/

    Help please, sick betta

Looks like a fungal infection. Treat with fungal all or with whatever fungal treatment you can find in accordance with the box. Until you can treat with specific medications stick to stuff that should broadly target it and increase the slime coat. Here google may be helpful.

    Move causing cycle?

The move itself potentially is the issue, in my experience it can cause a good amount of stress especially for larger fish.

    120 Gallon Circulation

Seems like a good one if you have stock that like water flow. If they dont a good substitute could be an airstone or two to break the water tension. You could go low or high on the power head depending on how much flow you want as well.

    Am I over stocked?

Plan for adult size when you use inch per gallon. Otherwise you will have to find somewhere else for fish to live potentially. In some of the other posts there is a handy tool website that shows stocking amounts and the like. Personally you dont seem over stocked. They may be adjusting or not...

    Pregnant or sick platy?

It might do better with more buddies as well. Platties tend to like to school. So it may be a bit stressful on the one to be alone. It does look like a pregnant female though

    29g Stocking

Why would 2 be too many? My understanding is you generally want 10 gallons per goldfish. With 50 gallons of water getting moved wouldnt that put the max at 5?

    Water problems 101

I agree mostly. I have never had any issues with pH. Air stones can be life savers. They help move the water around and give lots of oxygen back into your tank system. Making sure the filter is right for the tank can help too. This also gives good air circulation and can keep the water in...

    40 gallon cichlid HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cichlids are generally territorial so they need a good amount of space and hidding spots for each fish there. I would say you could still go by the 1in per adult fish size per gallon. But you may want to do half that stocking especially if they are on the more aggressive side. (Newer to cichlids)

there is something on my guppies eye

Have you started treating with fungal cure or something similar? I would suggest doing a water change at least once a week if not every other day or so and talking with the nearest fish store to figure out what specifically it is so you can get it treated hopefully.

Why is my ghost shrimp attacking my other fish!?

If Ghost shrimp are bigger then your fish, they may be going after them. Shrimp are omnivores so if they can catch it they will try and eat it. Feeding more or shrimp pellets should help if it hasnt improved with water changes
