    changing water upward

Hi. My 75g is in the basement of a house. The nearest fawcett is two flights of stairs up. I got the Python, but the path of water is too long too high and the pressure created by the fawcett is not enough to draw the water of the aquarium. I was thinking of getting a manual transfer pump...

    Ammo-chips

Hi, Is it me or does it really not say on the box how often these ammonia absorbers should be replaced? I think it is me. So can you tell me please how often? I mean they would not sell it in box packages unless it needed to be replaced. Thanks.

    what crab to get

Hmmm... That is a valid point. I did not think about that. Is there some non-fish, bottom dweller I could get? I saw some suggestion on an African frog, but that thing will sit still for a while. I want something that would actually move. That would be 75G.

How long for chlorine to evaporate

How long does it take for the water conditioner to kick in if I would add it to the tap water, minutes, hours, days? Do I still have to let the water stand overnight or with the conditioner it can be added to the aquarium sooner? Lorus...

to stand or not to stand

an update on this thread. I have actually built the stand. Minus side moldings and doors. I have used a $12.00 hand saw, $60.00 cordless drill from Lowe's, about $50.00 worth of lumber from Home Depot, about $15.00 worth of wooden screws and nails. A few comments on the plans presented on...

to stand or not to stand

So long as we are on the subject, I found this site http://www.arbreptiles.com/cages/75g_stand/index.shtml a while back, but the first time around I found it difficult to follow the instructions. I looked at it again recently and figured out pretty much what needs to be done. Are there more...

to stand or not to stand

Hi, I am trying to figure out what to put the 75G aquarium on. What are the alternatives to the stand? I saw a post here of a guy who put the aquarium on a buffet. What are other non-stand foundation people have used? Can I perhaps put two lesser non-stands to form a super stand? Thanks...

    new 75 G

Question about this filter http://www.aquariumguys.com/penguin350b.html I am just using this filter as an example, but from the looks of it, it looks like it just goes on top of a wall of the aquarium. The problem is that I have platic moldings attached to the edges all around the top, so I am...

    new 75 G

Hey all, Picked up a tank at a garage sale. The seller (was not his) was not sure about the capacity. Having lugged it home with my friend I measured it: 48"WX21"HX18"L, comes out to roughly 78 gallons, which I (being a complete newbie) means that this is a 75 gallon tank. Does that sound...
