Hi all, thanks for your replies. The Silvertips seem to have lost all interest in the Oto’s for now. Keeping an eye on them but they both seem happy to keep to themselves. Please see attached photo of tank.

Hi all, I have a school of 10 Silvertip Tetras and have added 8 Otocinclus catfish. The Silvertips seem to be chasing the Oto’s around. Is this likely to be due to them being new and they’ll leave them alone? Or are the Silvertips going to need to go into another tank?

So with the FX5/6 the foam is around the outside and then the baskets just contain the biological and chemical media? If that’s the case I’ll do 2 with Matrix and then one with carbon and purigen. The 2700‘s have 4 baskets so I’ll probably do 2 each on them. Looks like I’ll need about 8 litres.

I have a similar size tank with a mixture of Cichlids including peacocks. I bought them all as juvies and let them grow together and have had no major issues with aggression or anything. I have a mixture of male and female though.

Cichlid tank has limestone and crushed coral and has pH of about 7.6. Doing a 50% water change once a week, heavy filtration and only light stocking. KH is crazy low, normally about 6 or 7°

Annoying because if I could get it to balance at around 7 I want to keep discus. [emoji23]

Just gravel as substrate. No co2. Plants are Anubias, java fern, mosses, etc. Been using all the Ferts for months and never seen this happen before.

Awesome advice thanks! By ph buffers I meant the Seachem Discus Buffer (https://www.seachem.com/discus-buffer.php) to correct my pH (is this okay to use?) should match the pH and soften the water?

In my opinion - Cory’s. They have way more personality than pleco’s in my opinion. As for other tank mates it depends on what you’re going for

I’d slowly trade it out. So each day give them a little more pellets than flake. In my experience though, they’ll get hungry and eat what ever.

Give them a little of each for a week and then slowly drop down to just pellets

Males have really defined red fins and females are really yellow.

Pretty sure all female.

Hi all, I have a 40cm x 40cm x 40cm cube tank and looking for stocking ideas. I was tossing up a couple of pairs of Neolamprologus brevis but it would probably be a bit to small. What other options could I look at? (Not just cichlids. Don’t think I’ll be too lucky there).
