    Using Your API Test Kit

To each there own. But I tend to disagree. I have enough vials to test 3 tanks at once so I test all 3 and it let's me decide between 30% or 50% water changes. It's also a good indicator of when you may need to clean out a cannister filter. I find the test strips too ambiguous for my liking and...

    Using Your API Test Kit

I get a bit frustrated when people buy the api test kit and just wing it rather than reading the instructions. I also have a tank where the oscars were over running the filter before i pulled out the chemical filtration and put in 2 lbs more biological media. So I decided to use this tank before...

DIY Stand for 75/90 Gallon Tanks

I made these with a pretty simple design and basic hardware store lumber. The screws switch threads at the end so the last half inch pull the lumber together. The chop saw was purchased at a pawn shop for $40. One of the tanks is already filled with water and cycling. Stand is holding up great.

    Drop In UV Unit

Got two of these guys. A big one rated for 125 gallons for my 90 gallon cichlid tank and a smaller one rated for 55 gallons for my 29 gallon community tank. The 29 gallon one has stayed spotless and the 90 has greatly improved but isn't as perfect.

looking for an inline uv sterilizer

Would prefer an option that would maybe replace a portion of uplift tubes below a power head or replacing a powerhead if built into the uv sterilizer but would still connect to the uplift tubes. Does that make sense at all?

90 Gallon Freshwater Planted Tank Setup

Exactly. He should come home with me. I let my fish guy know I got dibs cause he's too dominant to be in a mixed 29.i got 3 times the volume and if he still caused problems I got other tanks

90 Gallon Freshwater Planted Tank Setup

One convict, one yellow lab, and one blue and orange peacock. The orange peacock might not be mine but the lfs says the woman who called dibs on him can't handle him and has a mixed 29 gallon which sounds like a disaster. So I'll likely end up with him

Making Aqueon's 90 Gal Stand Strong Enough for 90 Gallons

Valid point. In my case the stand had minor cosmetic shipping damage and was out of warranty and my tank is from the 90s so who knows who made it. Better safe than sorry I guess

    New 48" LED Light Bar

Because I'm sticking with the older under gravel filters and pumps I decided to splurge on a new 48" LED Bar. This one is more and more impressive the more I play with it. Should make my cichlids Pop!

Making Aqueon's 90 Gal Stand Strong Enough for 90 Gallons

I would just make one. You could in a very affordable fashion. Some 2x6, 2x4, and 3/4" ply. Have at it.

Making Aqueon's 90 Gal Stand Strong Enough for 90 Gallons

looks good though. I'd run some 2x6 fit snug in there and beef that bad boy up some. then it should be fine. But that's silly that it's not rated for as much weight as it holds. And, I don't think i'd be flirting with the max weight without reinforcement anyway.

Just do freshwater then and make it easier to keep up with. Those guys with huge salt water are amazing. No way I could do that.

Cleaning 20 years worth of grime from 90 gallon tank and hardware

I scored a free 90 gallon tank, filter, and pumps. But, it had been sitting in a warehouse for 20 years. This took all darn day. https://youtu.be/WKX_MrZVcfY
