I get a bit frustrated when people buy the api test kit and just wing it rather than reading the instructions. I also have a tank where the oscars were over running the filter before i pulled out the chemical filtration and put in 2 lbs more biological media. So I decided to use this tank before...
I made these with a pretty simple design and basic hardware store lumber. The screws switch threads at the end so the last half inch pull the lumber together. The chop saw was purchased at a pawn shop for $40. One of the tanks is already filled with water and cycling. Stand is holding up great.
Got two of these guys. A big one rated for 125 gallons for my 90 gallon cichlid tank and a smaller one rated for 55 gallons for my 29 gallon community tank. The 29 gallon one has stayed spotless and the 90 has greatly improved but isn't as perfect.
Would prefer an option that would maybe replace a portion of uplift tubes below a power head or replacing a powerhead if built into the uv sterilizer but would still connect to the uplift tubes. Does that make sense at all?
Because I'm sticking with the older under gravel filters and pumps I decided to splurge on a new 48" LED Bar. This one is more and more impressive the more I play with it. Should make my cichlids Pop!
I scored a free 90 gallon tank, filter, and pumps. But, it had been sitting in a warehouse for 20 years. This took all darn day.

I scored the 90 Gallon stand half price due to some cosmetic shipping damage but there is no way I would ever trust pine, glue, and staples to hold 800lbs. So i fixed it
