    Shrimp identification

My LFS has these shrimp in called rhino shrimp. Its a saltwater shrimp and they didn't seem to know anything about them. I couldn't find any reference to a saltwater shrimp called a rhino shrimp and couldn't find anything similar. Anybody know what these are called or have seen them?

    I'm Making a New Aquarium

I still do weekly waterchanges though to keep nitrates lower but I'll tell ya what heavy stocking and a decent light works great for growing tall plants.

    I'm Making a New Aquarium

I would say you definently want something more than a 20 and even a 29 may be a tad small depending on school size. I would say if you want to do schools of 5 fish each you probably want a 40 gal. 40 breeder is a great dimension. If you are going to do heavy plants you could do a 29. If you were...

    Tank recommendations?

I would reccomend a 5 or 5.5 gal. If you go to petsmart they sell little kits for like 5 and 5.5 gal kits that are pretty cheap and work well. There is glass lids that you can buy for most size tanks just make sure to pay attention to dimensions but they are pretty weighted and make a tight fit...

    29 gal stocking ideas

Yeah. I have heard that. I haven't been able to find any I really like that aren't annuals. Haven't looked to much into it though. Any species recommendations?

    29 gal stocking ideas

I highly considered the killifish. Short lifespan kind of kills it though unless I got a breeding population.

    29 gal stocking ideas

I highly considered the killifish. Short lifespan kind of kills it though unless I got a breeding population. I already have some colomeseus asellus puffers and am gonna get a tank for a ret tail red eye puffer set up soon here. I have owned the butterfly fish and they are sick fish but he...

    29 gal stocking ideas

That sucks. I have 2 species of these gobies already. I have the leavalli and the changtinensis rhinogobius. I also have the neon blue stiphodon gobies. My leavalli are breeding and I'm just trying to set up the right environment in a separate tank to actually hatch the eggs and raise them.

    29 gal stocking ideas

Lol. These are just some ideas how oddball I want to go. I am 16 so these fish will be near impossible to get and purchase unless I find a place online with all of them or my lfs somehow gets them.

    29 gal stocking ideas

I have a few now they are pretty cool but not what I am looking for. Had an idea and went on aquaadvisor and jus plugged my tank and equipment in and I'm thinking of doing something along the lines of this. (The photo list is stocking). It is giving some warning about the leaf fish becoming...

    29 gal stocking ideas

I have a 29 gal I've been running with rams and some other fish for almost a year now. I'm looking to do a complete escape and restock on the tank and just looking for input for some really cool and intresting fish for a 29. I was thinking of doing some type of pike cichlid tank but they seem to...

Can I get an amazon puffer?

That would be fine. Just watch for aggression from the gourami.

Can I get an amazon puffer?

Also do way more kuhlis. You could do 10 to 15 and that would be cool because they would swim everywhere then. The more kuhlis you have the more active. You could do say 6 puffers, 10 kuhlis, 3 mollies, 3 sword tails and then like 10 guppies. That would look cool. Kuhlis are great for cleaning...

Can I get an amazon puffer?

I would highly advise no dwarf guiramis, and none of the algae eaters. The rule of thumb for the puffers is 1 per 15 and then for every additional puffer 5 gallong so 60 -15 is 45 and 45/5 is 9 so in theory if you really wanted to you could shoal 10 puffers in a 60 gallon. These puffers love...

Can I get an amazon puffer?

What kind of snails do you feed? I use pond snails and I try to feed as much as I can about 20 per week. I also have a population of trumpet snails that they eat sometimes. mine still have needed trimming every 3 months or so.

Can I get an amazon puffer?

Yeah definently a bit scary at first but once you see these fish and get to enjoy them it is absolutely worth it and not as bad as you would think. Ive had mine for almost 7 months now and will never get rid of these fish. They do live a long time like 10 to 15 years plus.

Can I get an amazon puffer?

Essentially keep them with anything that is never going to nip or chase the puffer and make sure to have a bottom clean up crew. Also avoid golden algae eaters because they suck. I kept them once and they didn't ever eat algae and they became aggressive against my other fish. Same deal with...

Can I get an amazon puffer?

All in all though they are absolutely amazing fish. Just takes a longgggg time to get them. At least where I am I had to wait almost 5 months for the local store to get them in

Can I get an amazon puffer?

I currently have 2 of them in a 20 long with rhinogobius gobies a twig cat and an Indian butterfly catfish. They are super super peaceful. My siamese algae eaters that were in there would actually chase the puffer and stress them out. Defianntly be prepared to trim their teeth with cuticle...

Will I be overstocking if I add another school of fish to my 37 gallon?

I have a 29 gal with 27 fish. It is a high tannin tank but I have a lot of surface plants and moss and am running an aquaclear 70 on it and my nitrates stay under 30 even if I skip 2 or 3 weeks of water changes. You should be fine with all of those small fish. Just be careful with ottos and make...

What species of rhinogobius is this?

Yes does look similar but the blue mouth throws me off a bit. Mine has a red highlight around his lips and bright red spotting on his cheeks. It's possible that is it the breannus and just a bit different looking but still throws me off.
