You can rinse them in a bucket of water from the tank when you do any sort of water change. Don't change any more than 1/2 of the g-nodes every 6 months. Sometimes it's just best to leave them as is and clean the container for them in tank water that is changed out. This will help keep the good...

Definitely go with a canister filter. This was also a recommendation from my local expert. Will do a much better job in the long run.

I have a Fluval C3 on a 20 gal and works great. The C4 may be good, the 5 stage works well and really does a nice job. The benefit of the 5 stages allows good bacteria to stay in the C-nodes. just my opinion

This is a cycled tank and the fish have been in for quite a while. I have not added any new fish in the past few months. The amazon swords have also been in for a while, over 6 months.

I've had a couple fish struggling to swim, not eating and then die. Now I've had a seemingly healthy sword die. Did a half tank (20 gal tank) water change and removed dead amazon sword plant. All water parameters check within proper range. Any suggestions?

20 gal tank just over 2 months old, how long before this clears up? All levels check in range.
