Help with white growth (not ich) on cory fins

Hi all I have been keeping several cory spp. for about three months. Some of the fish have a white growth on their fins and not on any other body part (please see pic). The growth is rather large white usually round but sometimes goes along the fin appearing on the caudal or dorsal fins mostly...

    Corydoras and high ph

Hi all This topic has been discussed here before and I have also looked in many other discussion groups and websites but I am stiil not sure about this as there is a lot of contradicting information. I have been successfully growing and breeding bronze corys in the past two months in a ph of...

How do you feed green water to fry in a 1 gal?

I would put the green water in and if you see them darting then it means they are eating after a few hours I would feed with yolk and powder. Do a max water change every day.

How do you feed green water to fry in a 1 gal?

I see. This could be a bit tricky since you don't really know what you have growing in the green water and most likely the culture is not rich enough. As a rule I would pour enough greenwater to turn the aquarium water light green but would also add some fine powdee dry food and dry egg yolk. Of...

    Breeding corys in high ph?

Just to update corys have laid eggs and doing well. After a few attempts I was able to raise the fry. So as you said ph not an issue at least for this species. Thanks

Angelfish fry die before free swimming

I am not an anglefish expert at all but I did and do breed other egglaying fish. Hatching and growth is directly dependent on temperature. from a paper I found, in 24-25 degrees C, angelfish larvae may start feeding on the third day post hatch which essentially means you want to start your...

    Pregnant Molly problems! urgent!

Hi As posted here I would say she is stressed from the move. Why not use a spawning chamber and keep her in the same tank? If not possible I would do a 50% water change using the water from the original aquarium but the female will most likely eat the fry unless they have good hiding places...

Angelfish fry die before free swimming

Hi My best guess is that they are dying of hunger. It is not always clear when the yolk sac stage is over and it is good to start feeding a bit earlier. Just throw in artemia on the day before they usually die and see what happens. Of corse it will be better to separate them from the parents and...

    Home made feed for Corys?

Thanks. I do not live in the US (I am from Israel) and live in an isolated area in the middle of the desert, in normal times online shipping is slow and expensive but now it is virtually impossible to get stuff delivered here. I mainly need the food to condition the breeders. I was thinking...

    Home made feed for Corys?

Hi All I am a new Cory grower and would like to feed them a good variety of foods but commercial stuff is impossible to get now due to the coronavirus issue. I have dry feed and brine shrimp which I hatch every day but was wondering if any experienced growers out there have any ideas for...

    Breeding corys in high ph?

Thanks! This sounds promising. The water I use is soft (but ph is high) so I am wondering if eggs from other species will also hatch, not sure at all what the role of ph is in breeding. Maybe if I transfer the eggs into lower ph water (which is much easier due to small water volume) it could...

    Breeding corys in high ph?

Hi All, new member here I am starting a very exciting project of breeding fish for a living. I have been dreaming about this for a long time and decided to give this a serious try. I am starting relatively small with a fish room containing about 50 aquariums of about 100 liters each and decided...
