Personally I wouldn’t even get the neons. I’ve had both kinds of fish and just by personal experience and observations my Bichir has and will just swallow them up. Especially with the right conditions it would be a playful hunt for the Bichir, and at night it would be a nightmare if the neons...

I don’t have as much experience as some in the medical side of fish, but I can tell you to leave the neons in the quarantine tank for a good amount of time. Make sure the current effects like the white spots have gone down and then do some water changes on that tank. Maybe wait a few more days...

My Bichir swallowed a small rock and there is a medium sized lump in his abdomen. What should I do? Will he spit it out or do I have to do something?

First of all, beautiful tank dude. Second, I would simply fertilize as directed on the bottles. I use 3 different types of Fertilizer and I dose each at least once a week and so on. I tend to find the root tabs last pretty long though, so I’d use them only every so often. Hope this helps!
