    Treating ICH

I have two fish with similar issues, this one on their tail, and the other (super hard to photograph) has it on their dosal fin. I transfered them about 2 months ago. They are both about 5 years old. Got them Dec 2018 or Jan 2019. I think it might be red vs orange? Like a blood vessel or...

This is the clearest picture I have. Nothing has been recently added to tank. All the fish including the ones with these are acting normal.

    Treating ICH

Hello, Two of my long skirt tetras have what my internet search is saying is Ich. One has two white blobby things on it's tail fin and the other has one white blobby thing on it's dosal fin. I was looking at Amazon for Ich medication and read a comment that said that the Tetra brand is...

    Betta Damaged Fins

My angel has been fine with other female bettas, Sadly, my previous betta passed away, nothing to do with the Angel, I had her for 4 years. I'm not sure if its just because she happens to be very small at the moment. I recently loss my tetras through a move, possible that since shes small and no...

    Betta Damaged Fins

She's only in a litre of water at the moment because I needed to take her out of the tank. It's not going to be where she is staying, but it was better than nothing at the moment.

    Betta Damaged Fins

Hello, I bought an female betta on Tuesday. She's pretty small, but no smaller than the other new fish I've brought into the tank. I moved her out of my tank after noticing my Angel going after her, I did notice some nips of her anal fin. It wasn't until later that I noticed that one of her...

    Plant carpet tank

I've always wanted to have a plant carpeted tank. But I never knew how. I already have my tank and fish set up for months. All the videos I've watched show that the soil and seeds have to be planted and growing before adding the water and the fish. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is...

Anyone used Aquarium Cotton Sponge Biochemical Filtration Pads?

Thank you. I've been in the habit of cleaning them when the water starts to slow out the filter fall. But that's good to know. Thank you.

Anyone used Aquarium Cotton Sponge Biochemical Filtration Pads?

I've had my filter for a few years, the original sponge was tossed a long time ago. I try to use the sponges for as long as I can. The pack of 12 I've been going through i bought Spring 2018. I gave some away and down to 3. I guess it would probably just still be cheaper in the long run to buy...

Anyone used Aquarium Cotton Sponge Biochemical Filtration Pads?

I have an Aqua Clear 50. I use generic sponges, but the ones I used to buy from eBay don't seem to be around any more. I used to get 12 for like $15. But now the only ones out there seem to be 6 for $11. I was hoping that maybe I could find a cheaper alternative and saw Aquarium Cotton Sponge...

What to do with angelfish fry

When I had molly fry I gave them for free on kijiji. Not saying you have to offer for free, but it made them go fast.

    Wanted: Free fish

I'd suggest looking at Kijiji. That's where I went to when giving away my fry

    Cheap/DIY substrate for planted aquarium?

I used dirt from the dollar store. I basically looked up what was bad and made sure the dirt I bought did not contain it. Then poured gravel overtop. I had the dirt in my tank for 4.5 years before I moved. My plants grew like crazy. Good luck.

Start of a hobby death of a fish (Experiences to now)

Story time. Getting it all off my chest. Every single time I lose fish I'm so heartbroken. So many of my friends don't understand how or why I get so attached to my fish. There are a lot of people I know that have fish but don't look at them as pets, don't look and love them as they do...

    Betta fin rot medication

Hello, Sorry to hear about the fin rot, it was because my betta first had fin rot that I got super into taking care of fish. I also live in Canada, so hopefully I can help you. The first thing I bought, but can't remember for the life of me was in a plastic bottle in the shape of a fish with...

Khuli Loach one of my favs.

I've always wanted knife fish but they need really big tanks, so last year I found LK at my aquarium store, never seen anything like them before. They are my boyfriend's favourite fish from my tank. I hope to get more in the future. But right now, I love my 5 little guys.

    Lost algae eater

Are there any other decorations in your tank? I find that mine likes to hang under my driftwood...which is the same colour, and my boyfriend's father's pleco hides under leaves of fake plants. They are so hard to find.

    New member, filter upgrade help

I would say that as long as the sponge and carbon fit in the aquaclear then you should get for cycling. I have an aquaclear 50. That removable grey tray in the big part of the filter is where you place everything. It doesn't really matter what order, I usually put the sponge on the bottom and...

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

Stared at it and took some photos. XD I cleaned my tank yesterday so the weekend is usually just for admiring my babies.

    New with a little knowledge

5 gallons is the minimum for a betta, so you will be good with that if you are just getting one fish. Good luck with the restart. :)
