    Molly with popeye

The dosage I used was a 250 mg packet of Fenbendazole, we soaked about half the packet in food and fed it to the betta and the other half we put directly in the tank. We treated for about three days but I still see the worm hanging out. How would I be able to tell if the medicine dissolved? How...

    Molly with popeye

I also heard it can live on snails so perhaps the worms were just living on the snails for months? There were other fish in there for awhile though so not sure why none of them got the Camallanus again until we put this betta in. And no, there is no activated carbon. I am not using liquid...

    Molly with popeye

Okay so the Molly is fine now. But I have a different problem. I have a betta is a ten gallon (the old tank that the Molly and some other fish were in). I had a Camallanus problem in April/May and lost a lot of fish but since then everything has been fine. The tank has even been empty of fish...

    Molly with popeye

Moved him into the big tank (35 gal compared to the old 10 gal) two days ago. Still can't tell if there's anything wrong with his eye, but it doesn't seem to be bothering him. Also, that minnow I sent a picture of early on in the thread is still rather bloated, I dont think its pregnant.

Yes I agree it would be worth it to continue but refuses. It is possible the Dalmatian molly's Popeye is gone, but I can't tell. His eyes look bigger than our other Dalmatian Mollys, but maybe that's just how he is? I'll keep watching him but so far his eyes haven't gotten worse so that's good

    Molly with popeye

Treated with one dose of amoxicillin a few days ago and he was fine with it, but my brother decided he doesn't want to do any more medicine so I guess we won't be finishing the amoxicillin treatment even though it seemed promising.

    Molly with popeye

Still the same. We stopped the kanaplex about a week ago. this past Wednesday we did a partial water change of about 40% and then added Api Quick Start to help with the ammonia levels. I ordered fish amoxicillin and it shipped so we're just waiting for that to come. In terms of trying...

    Molly with popeye

There is no activated carbon. And thank you for the article. I just dosed the third dose of kanaplex. There still doesn't seem to be any improvement, and it says to use for a maximum of three doses so I guess I will not be using any more kanaplex after this. For now I guess I'll wait for the...

    Molly with popeye

Okay so I got some Api Quick Start because it's supposed to reduce the ammonia. I didn't put it in yet though. I also went to a local pet store and asked what treats pop-eye and he said amoxicillin treats it, so I ordered some fish amoxycillin online but im not sure when it will arrive. For now...

    Molly with popeye

I dont know why the ammonia is high. I actually use bottled Poland spring gallons instead of tap water. So there isn't any chlorine or anything wrong with the water that is being put in. Also the Dalmatian Molly is the only fish in the tank right now, aside from snails. We got a bigger tank...

    Molly with popeye

Okay so I tested the water yesterday, here are the parameters: pH: 7.6 Ammonia: .25 Nitrites: 0 Nitrates: 5 Just dosed another two scoops of Kanaplex, although it doesn't seem to be helping. His eyes are still very big.

    Molly with popeye

I have been doing partial water changes/gravel vacs every few days but his eye is getting a bit worse it looks like. I tried erythromycin without any luck, then I tried a couple doses of Api fin and body cure which also didn't help. Last night I dosed two scoops of Kanaplex to the tank (10 gal)...

    Molly with popeye

Hi, so my Dalmatian Molly seems to have a bit of Popeye again. the erythromycin helped the other week but I just went through another round of dosing with it and it didn't help this time. Should I try Api fin and body cure?

    Molly with popeye

I have another problem however. For the past month or so my minnow has been getting more and more bloated. It's acting fine but has a very big abdomen. Any ideas on what it could be? Is this normal or is something really wrong? Pic below.

    Molly with popeye

So I ended up doing a round of api fin and body cure which brought the swelling down quite a bit and then I switched to erythromycin and now his eye seems fine.

    Molly with popeye

I believe my Dalmatian Molly has popeye. He was sluggish yesterday, just staying at the top swimming in the same spot all day, then today he was staying at the bottom. Then at night I turned the tank light on and noticed his eye is bulging. I can’t tell if the other one is also, but one is...

    White Fuzz on Molly

Weird Molly Behavior The fungal patch seems to have subsided but there is still a lingering piece and I've been using Paraguard already for 10 days. Also, the Molly has been doing something very weird. Sometimes she starts shaking a bit and swims underneath another female Molly and rubs her...

I have a Dalmatian Molly with a white fuzzy patch on its head, how do I treat this?

    White Fuzz on Molly

I have a Dalmatian Molly who was showing signs of ich last week (flashing, had a couple spots), and also had a white-ish path of fuzz on her head so I started treating with Seachem ParaGuard. It has been 5 days of treatment and the ich spots seem to have gone away, but the white fuzz patch seems...
