Need some advice with my Corydoras

You said you feed bloodworms and pellets? I’m going to step in and advise not to feed bloodworm as a staple. It’s very fatty; I usually compare it to fast food for fish. Feed it to the fish only on occasion, instead focusing more on other frozen foods, such as brine shrimp and daphnia for...

    Roseline Shark Fading Colors

You don’t need to be nuking the tank with so many medications (let alone the wrong ones). That’s a quick and easy way to make the problem worse or kill the fish. Likely why it’s not improving. I like to encourage ignoring the “six fish minimum” rule. ;) Anyways, this particular fish could be...

    Fuzzy tank stuff and plants

Hi, this fuzzy stuff usually appears during cycling. My guess is it’s either a harmless fungus or biofilm. It appears as fast as it’s gone. The cloudy water suggests you’re going through the bacteria bloom phase of cycling, so it all adds up. If that Java fern is planted in the substrate, which...

    Stunt?

Wait, how big are yours? There are different factors affecting growth rate in aquaria to the wild. They’re incomparable. Some animals live longer, healthier lives in captivity even. A six foot long tank is providing plenty enough room for a smaller school of giant danios. Often it’s down to...

    Baby albino Bristlenose pleco

Interesting! :) Bristlenoses are very easy to breed. Just put a male and female together and boom, tons of fry. The variety found in the aquarium trade has been bred beyond any specific water parameters, so breeding bristlenoses doesn’t warrant altering the parameters for success. You’ve a good...

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

Just a “watching the fish” sort of day today. :) It’s getting dark and I can see the countless (nocturnal) trumpet snails climbing the left side of the glass. Will do weekly water changes tomorrow. I’ve also been keeping a close eye on the temperature of my 33 gallon recently because the heater...

    Opinion on snails

Snails are escape artists. I’ve heard accounts of people having their snails escape through the thinnest of gaps in their lids before. I have trumpet snails which, although can multiply to enormous numbers, don’t escape or pollute the water. Trumpet snails are livebearers, meaning you won’t...

Help! What kind of fish is this??

To me, it looks and sounds like a half banded loach. I can see the signature stripes, it just needs to colour up or maybe mature some more before they show fully. It’s too thin and long to be an otocinclus, and the described behaviour would also suggest it’s not an oto to me.

    75 gallon stocking

Hi. That is a really nice scape. Well done! :) I have to think tiger barbs will be nippier when in small numbers. In big groups, their aggression is diluted. Unfortunately, you haven’t the room for a decent group of six inch long semi-aggressive fish including the other fish currently in there...

    StinkyLoaf's aquariums

Next up is my 70 gallon. It's a long story as to why the stocking is so diverse and maybe a little impractical. I have plans to rehome the red rainbow and stock up on the other rainbows. Apart from the single red fish, this aquarium is peaceful. No plants, but I'd like to get some undemanding...

    Heyhey.

Ok, here is the thread for my aquariums. I've just posted about the 33 gallon, will do the 70 later: https://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f19/stinkyloafs-aquariums-377683.html#post3565518

    StinkyLoaf's aquariums

Hello everyone! Today I'm going to show you what I'm up to in the hobby. First up is my 33 gallon bowfront. In the attached images, the tank light is on only for the purpose of photography. In any other case, I allow the sun to light the tank up. This causes spot algae, but I encourage to treat...

    Heyhey.

I’m also on another forum, which has rules against promoting threads, so I’m just trying to be sure.

    Heyhey.

Thanks for clearing things up for me. I’m using Safari on a mobile device. Can’t wait to get photos up tomorrow. I’ll likely start another thread for my aquariums, which is where I’ll post them. Is it ok if I post a link to that thread here when I come to doing it?

    Heyhey.

Thank you. I’d like to post pictures of my setups by tomorrow, so you can all see what I’m currently up to. It’s a bit late where I live and the tank lights are off for the night. If a tank receive enough direct sunlight, I use the sun as their light. I don’t mind small buildups of algae. BTW...

    Heyhey.

Newcomer here. I’ve been keeping fish for the past five years almost, but really got into it this year. I’m quite fascinated in the peaceful Central/South American cichlids (such as rainbows and keyholes to name a couple), not so much interested in African cichlids (particularly Rift Lakers). I...
