yes there is a shield, a transparent roof for preventing direct sunlight. and i leave in the philippines the weather here are not a mojor problem for maintaining water parameters because i'm here in hot country and we don't use heater for our tank.:)

thanks dude!... For the info, this tank is more than 3 years old right now and we build this w/ a company of my cousin. Tank dimension it's about 4x5 feet and 3.5 feet deep... and 1x4 ft. / 1.5 ft. at the back of the tank for the filtration box (3 chamber)made of concrete. and 1x4/ 0.5ft. deep...
