    I screwed up!

I've read elsewhere that it is a crap shoot. Some folks have gotten 3+ years out of theirs. While others get 3 months. Your call. Roll the dice or walk away from the table. Personally, I would add a few bucks to it and get a quality filter from Fluval or similar that will last possibly 10 years.

    Cleaning new tank

Seem to recall mixing baking soda and vinegar causes a reaction. I would opt for water.

    Looking to modify filtration system

I've always heard for years, carbon really shouldn't be used in a planted tank as it captures the nutrients in water that plants need.

    Neon Tetras??

Keeping them separate shouldn't be a problem, IMO. Would they be happier mixed up? Most likely.

    Many questions...

Straw is not the answer. It will rot and just add to your troubles.

    Suicidal Molly

Sounds to me like something has drastically changed with your tank parameters. Could be the water hardness or pH level. But something is different and they don't like it.

    Looking for a pump

Never mind. Got answers somewhere else. Have one on the way.

    Looking for a pump

Hopefully this is in the right place. Need an external pump pushing 750 (ish) gph at roughly 7'. Want to turn a 120 gallon tank at least 5 times per hour (600 gph minimum). On a bit of a budget and looking to stay under/near the $100 USD mark. And as reliable as possible for the money. I know...

    Fins falling off??

Do research on fin rot. Research cycling a tank. Change water daily if not more. If all you have is a bowl (no filter), your fish is swimming in a sewer.

    Striped Bass

I know that in Ohio it is illegal to transfer a game fish from one body of water to another. I guess the question would then become, is an aquarium a "body of water" in the legal sense? Aside from that, striped bass are cold water fish (I believe) and would probably require a few thousand...

    Air pump and powerhead

People have been leaving bubblers, power heads and filters running 24/7 for decades.

    How to stock tank

Not sure what your idea of "heavily planted" is. But if it's what I think of as "heavily planted", my opinion is you'll be overstocked. Here's my thinking. Taking into account the substrate and that you can't fill a tank to the very top, you're probably in the ballpark of 40 to 45 gallons of...

    Need some aquarium styling help!

See the list above. All good options. All plantable. Generally the only thing you need to do is wash it. I use pool filter sand. Its a light to medium tan. And was fairly clean to begin with. Still needed a good washing though. I have no experience with the others mentioned.

    Baby Snail Question

Put a small piece of lettuce in the jar. They'll most likely be all over it in no time. Then move the lettuce to their new home. Its what I would try anyway.

    I screwed up!

I agree. Nobody "needs" a uv sterilizer. Other methods worked just fine before the uv sterilizer was invented.

    I screwed up!

I'd do a water change and cover it for a few days. On the plus side, that snail is thinking he is at a grand buffet.

    Need some aquarium styling help!

If making plastic strips to separate substrates, look at the half gallon plastic bottles like Gold Peak tea is sold in. Its sturdy and clear. And it's a pretty decent tea as well, lol.

    Ideas

Rocks are nice in an aquascape. But THOSE rocks I would take out, if it were mine. They are too attention grabbing in my opinion. But, alas, it's your tank. And maybe that's what you want.

Any ideas how to make my aquarium look good

I've seen tons of tanks online and several "off the wall" tanks in person that the owners thought were the greatest thing since toast was invented. One of these "off the wall" tanks was a Star Wars themed tank that had a life size Darth Vader mask in it. Not my cup of tea though. I prefer a...

    Best chlorine remover

Can always look on YouTube for DIY chlorine remover. It's what I use. Makes enough to treat something like 50,000 gallons of water for under $10. I know YouTuber DIYKing has a vid on it. Just throwing out an option.

    Driftwood

Personally, I wouldn't use it in a freshwater tank. I can't see it being easy to get out all the salt that has soaked into it. I would be afraid it would cause issues. But maybe someone else has had experience with it.

    Water Change with Large Tank?

I have not confirmed this but .... I read somewhere not long ago that some bed/matress stores carry an item that looks virtually identical the the faucet adapter on the Python. Only it's blue. And it's for filling waterbeds. And supposedly it is far cheaper. Just have to add a hose.

    Plants not growing

What lighting? What plants? What substrate? Just a few questions that, if answered, might let someone steer you in the right direction.

    Hot glue gun

Don't know for certain, but thinking hot glue would pop off pretty easily. I don't think it would harm the tank to use it though. Maybe bend a paperclip to make a hook and glue it to the back of the tank top. Then you can still remove the heater later if needed. Just a thought.

    Cory catfish

Some times 1 or 2 of my albinows will swim up and down the glass for 5 or 10 minutes. Fun to watch though. .
