new tank (new pics added 7/29/07)

Thanks for the heads up. What I will do is zip tie the back grid to the bottom grid. That way if it does come loose the weight of the rocks on the bottom grid will hold it all in place. Mark

new tank (new pics added 7/29/07)

Thanks Curt. The grid in the back is to provide extra flow around the LR, and more stability to the rocks. I also have another sheet of acrylic behind the back grid. I will be using marine epoxy (if needed) to secure rocks to the back. I did not want to get marine epoxy on my tank so I used the...

    question regarding cycling

Thanks Kurt. I do have a bio filter in the tank. I will remove the rocks if I need to medicate. My ammonia is pretty low right now, I'm sure that will change in a few days. Mark

    question regarding cycling

How does PPM translate into mg/l? mg/l is the only scale my kit has. I'm not really worried about the rock, its was really cheap, should I be concerned? Thx Mark BTW- I will only have 1 fish first, then down the road may quarantine 3 small fish.

    question regarding cycling

I just started to cycle my quarantine tank with a raw shrimp. The tank smells like crap. I'm wondering if this is normal? I would think that a rotting shrimp in a tank would not smell good, but this is just putrid. The shrimp has been in there for only 1 day. The tank has an hob filter that...
