    My hippo tang

Never quit doing water testing. It's a safety measure for the tank. It will tell you of potential problems before they take hold of the tank...especially nitrates. You should test full parameters at least once every two weeks. I would never go without testing for any more than a month. It...

    My hippo tang

How's the water quality in the main tank? I'm guessing the 29 is a temporary thing for the tang? He can't stay in there. Tangs do not do well in small tanks. Check the water parameters and post the results...numbers please. Do include all four areas...ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH...

    Bombing for cockroaches...

I just mentioned it'd be respectful to keep such things off their threads and the boards. That is not a decision, but rather an opinion, thank you. And there is no engagement of any debate, so please lighten up.

    Bombing for cockroaches...

It's only harsh if you take it that way. Otherwise it's just reality. I believe in being up front and honest. No one is being mocked, rude or ill-informed, so therefore needless to start nick picking at my comments on a public forum (which seems to be a habit here for a few individuals)...

    Starting a semi-aggresive tank

The only problem with avoiding the FW dip and extending QT time is if the lion does have parasites and you don't see them, they'll just spread without your knowledge of them until one day there's a cloudy eye or the fish becomes lethargic and stops eating, etc. Lions are very difficult to treat...

    Starting a semi-aggresive tank

You could house a couple of dwarf lions and make the rest of the inhabitants a bit more out of the ordinary. As of other fish, choices are extremely limited and in a 55 gallon, limited all the more, but things like sea urchins, snails, larger hermit crabs, cucumbers, starfish and even simple...

    sick oscars

Sounds like the fish got spooked from the sudden brightness of the light. Just let him settle down. Watch for clumsy like beahvior in case he may have hit his head.

    Fungal spots on Angels?

What I would do is set the fish in a hospital tank for a week or two with a half and half mix of Malachite Green and Methylene Blue. During initial treatment I would scrape the fungus off and apply an antiseptic on a daily basis until healed. This has worked well for me.

    Ich or bigger problems?

Hey...saw your post was missed. How's the fish? Got an update?

    Bombing for cockroaches...

The fish may be OK without a filter for three days, but without oxygen, they can die. It depends on their size to the amount of water plus whatever else that utilizes oxygen. If this is the 29 fowlr mentioned in your sig, why not just move it? Put the water in a bucket, place the fish in the...

    Hello :)

I'm not quite new here, but it has been a while and now with a new name. Some of you may know me by TCTFish. I am no longer working for that company, therefore I no longer answer to posts with that name. I've been in college if anyone wondered what happened to me...lol. I'm now entering my...
