wow that is really bad. when i put mine in it was dusty but that is a blackout. id do some pwc's then let the filter take care of the rest.
that second pic looks like mine did when i first put it in. Id just let the filter take care of it from here on out.
did you let the water from your faucet settle overnight before testing the pH?
to get an accurate reading you must let the water sit overnight to "offgas" any CO2 in the water.
if you did wait to take the reading, then that is weird for the tank pH and faucet pH to be that different.
Im not sure the best way to do it but stopping cold turkey probably is not the best idea. It also depends on how much C02 you are running into the tank. A large pH swing can kill fish. My advice would be to over the course of a couple days to cut back on the CO2 until the CO2 drops to zero.
Ive got a Canon S5 IS. I love the camera. It has so many different features and functions. The macro and super macro are great and continous shooting is great for getting shots of moving fish. Unfortunatly it does not have a rechargeable battery pack but Im using 2500MaH rechargeable...

If you can you may want to remove the angelfish and place him in a different tank for a couple days. Being that he is the most established fish, it seems that he is bullying the "new kid" your new gouramis. This might give the gouramis a chance to establish themselves in the tank. This is...
Multiple gouramis can create aggression in a tank. Do the gouramis show aggression towards each other or any other fish? Is the angelfish the largest fish in the tank? If so it may be the cause of the aggression. More information would be helpful.
Ive had gouramis before as well and eventually they would become aggresive. Once they would get comfortable with the tank a dominant gourami would stake his claim on the tank and bully the others. I never had any die from it but he would chase the others and make them stay hidden while he swam...
