I took your advice and checked out some T5 setups. My budget is about $200, $250 max. I narrowed it down to the 36in Nova Extreme(http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=12772&N=2004+113175), which is 156 watts(4-39 watt). Would this be a better choice then the PC setup...

It's a 40g normal, dimensions are 36"x15"x16". I also plan to build a denitrator this weekend, which hopefully will keep nitrates at zero(a few months from now). Anyways, thanks for the info theatrus.
