Hey guys, I have some snails, not sure what kind... but they suck. They don't seem to move/eat very much. I was looking at some turbo snails in my LFS, do you think they would be better algae eaters? What do you guys recommend? TIA!

It was a moorish idol I saw at my LFS. They had two. One swam graceful, and they other swam more with his front fins going left, right... than his tail. I know my angels padle like this some when they are stationary, but not when swimming....

Hello everyone. My angelfish laid eggs two weeks ago, and last night she laid eggs again. It seemed odd to me that she would lay again in such a short time. Is this going to continue? TIA

Today I noticed very tiny, dot sized "bugs" swimming and walking around on my plastic decor. What are these things? Where did they come from (off of a fish is my guess)? And should I be alarmed? TIA!!

Hey guys, I need some help. My angelfish laid eggs today on the back of a piece of wood decor for the first time. What should I do? I would like to quarantine them... should I remove the decor or remove the other fish? How long do you think before they hatch? and does anyone know anything...

Hey guys, I've noticed a nitrate spike to 20ppm (mg/L). My ammonia and nitrite are both zero. pH and alkalinity good. It is a 120G fish only with only a majestic angel in it. Is that going to be harmful to it? What should I do? TIA

May not neccessarily harm them, but I know of multiple instances of fish and coral thriving and flourishing even better when the switch from tap to RODI was made

Not a dumb question. I had the same idea. Unfortunately, it is totally different bacteria cultures. Increasing your salinity that much would cause them to implode from the osmostic reaction to the two salinities. Best bet for a quick cycle is live rock or live sand. If nothing else, try to...

The protein skimmer will pick up pieces of protein and other wastes in your water that you couldn't scoop out with a net. However, it will not pick up large pieces of waste material. Both forms of filtration are pretty much neccessary. I suggest a canister filter. The cascade series is...

I believe that you would be ok as a FOWLR. You may want to confirm that before you make any decisions, but the lr shouldnt be as light specific as other corals would.

No. Where was the carbon stored? My guess is that the carbon carried some kind of household chemical or agent that poisoned your tank. Sorry to hear about your loss. :|

Everything should be fine as long as you are between 1.020 and 1.025. Maybe add 1/4 or 1/2 now and some later. Less sudden change in SG would reduce stress.

I agree with lando. I'm finishing up my 120 (all but fish), and have spent just under $2000. But I didnt get an Oceanic tank that looks like a piece of furniture either.
