    Here's a good one...

After a few years of fighting red sand, I am gong back to fresh water. What are some of you recommendations? I have a 180gal currently set up for FOWLR. I can't get rid of my live rock, so I was thinking, drain the tank, fill with tap water and let it run for a week and see what happens.

One week w/o fish and still...

...my sand is red. I have a 180gal with a 40gal sump. Super Skimmer rated for up to 200gal, 2 Fluval 405s with no sponge, just carbon and a basketball size ball of chaeto. I forget the brand of return pump, but it is supposed to be rated at 1800gal per hour. My phosphates and ammonia read zero...

    Wanted: Wanted: large saltwater fish

I want to add a new fish to my 180, but it needs to be big or it will be food. I would prefer someone local to Orange County, CA. Thanks!

    Hot weather

I have a 180gal. that for 11 months out of the year stays the same temp. When summer rolls around my water temps go up around 4 to 6 degrees. I am just not willing to spend the $700 for a chiller for one month out of the year. Does anyone here have any ideas on how I can keep the temps down? The...

    Can starfish get ich?

I just transfered all my fish to a new tank and they are all getting ich. I am thinking of using the old tank for a hospital, doing the hypo treatment and leaving all the rock, hermits and starfish in the main tank to keep it running. Think it will work?

    Hi from HB, CA

I have been keeping saltwater for a while. I just upgraded from an 80gal. to a 180gal. I put all the water from my 80 and mixed new water for the rest. I finally found a guy in my area that will give advice based on what is best for the fish and not his profit. With his help, I got rid of my...
