What type of decorations do you have and what type of substrate are you using? Do you have live plants? If so, do you use co2? I'd check the tap water levels and if straight from the tap it seems neutral or higher than you have now, check the website of the water provider or call them and see...

I'd recomend a vinegar/water mix, it'll work just fine on water spots, maybe a 1:1 ratio? I know Python makes a tank safe glass cleaner that from the smell of it, is made with vineger, that's what I use just cuz it came free with my hose lol;)

I've got to ask, what type of fish do you have in there already? I've never had an aquarium click on its own, I've had fish that do it, a few botia species (most notable being skunk botias) make a really rather annoying clicking noise that if you're not accustomed to can freak you out.

I'd go with either rainbowfish (they like to school though) or one (or two) gouramies, I like pearls and they'd look great with the blue/red theme IMO.

I think it really depends on personal taste. If you like dark sand, get dark sand (There's TMBS and other crushed quartz ideas), if you like white sand go with silica sand (can usually be found as sand blasting sand) and if you want a more mixed color, I like pool filter sand. If you're going...

It looks pretty good, I can see a few potential problems though. First, the CAE, just drop that completely they're pretty aggressive and won't mix with the shark or the angels/discus very well. Second and last major problem with that mix is the angel/discus mix, this is iffy in large aquariums...

Personally, I think pest snails are a must for every aquarium, they are probably the best indicators of overfeeding out there, they only reproduce in heavy numbers if there is excess food, sure they might breed little by little but they seem to sense when there is extra resources for a big baby...

I would recomend at least 250 watts going though the tank, and it's always a good idea to have 2 heaters in a larger tank so I'd go with maybe 2 150 watt heaters in there, that way if one somehow malfunctions, you'll still have the tank heated while you sort out the problem or get a new one...

Up the amount of water changes you do on the tank (either twice a week or maybe 25 to 30 percent a week), snails thrive in dirtier water because there is more food for them to reproduce off of. On that same thought, cut back on feeding a bit and try to make sure that there isn't any extra food...

I'd say you could fit one or two synos. The tank isn't overstocked so much as the middle swimming space sounds full. A couple synos or a bristlenose pleco would occupy the bottom space of the tank and that'd fill you out IMO.

Dwarf gouramies could work out, kissing gouramies definitely won't. They can get nearly 12 inches, they're nearly as bad as gouramy gouramies. If the angels do turn aggressive though, a dwarf gourami won't be able to hold it's own against them.
