O man i think i got a bargin at my LFS they had a pair of picassos and i bought the male for $30! im very happy with this guy...i dont want any more fish :) for the time being

Hi ive been very intrigued about this little guy...and done alot of research to see how he would do with my yasha hashe goby...ive heard that this fish does kill alot of fish but i really do like hawkfish and im in favor of the fact it grows only to about 3 inches and i have a 10 gallon...

since cmor said something about my bacteria building up does that mean i should just stick some filter stuff on my HOB and if i have to medicate just take them out?

well i know it would be better but the LFS says its hard for them to get the goby in they only get one every other year lol sooo i wanted to take the chance

ok so no sand i have two HOB 10gall no carbon just floss running in a 10gallon tank and a heater and i have to go buy some pvc pipes but other than that i seem fine right? and for the parital water changes how much should i do? 25%?

now am i suppose to put pvc pipes for hiding or live sand?and will it be ok if i start the qt now and pick the yasha 2 days later?

fire fish died this morning...i woke up and it was stuck on the filter i wasnt too happy seeing as today i was about to get the ich treatment and things...but im leavin the main tank alone...the yasha will be in the qt but do i really have to add water from my main tank into the qt bc im afraid...

o i see thanks pat so heres what i got: 1.start up quarentine tank 2.put firefish and yasha in 3.treat firefish for ich and let yasha qt 4.do 25%daily water changes 5.allow main tank to lay fallow for 7weeks

what is salt spray? sorry i dont quite understand what that is

i cant perform the hypo theres snails in the main tank and i have reef fish in the qt

so while i treat the firefish and the yasha in qt i can leave the main tank fallow hows that sound?

i was going to put both fish in the qt and leave the main tank fallow for 7 weeks...and perform 50% water changes in the qt tank...hows that sound?

can i put the yasha and the firefish in the same qt? and kill two birds with one stone? lol you can tell i really want the yasha but i also love my current fish also

i dont have a qt up and running could u give me the steps so i could start one with out a mini cycle?

but how do you know if its sand or not because doesnt sand sometimes stay on burrowers such as the fire fish or other gobies?

well the only inverts in it are my clean up crew just nassis snails lol but other than that no.... LFS said they go fast and they are really popular so yeah but im not even sure if it even has ich it comes off and re appears so it might just be sand since it burrows

they only hold it for 5 days ive called ahead and checked i dont think thats enough time is it?
