Id say if your tank can survive a blackout time you should go ahead and give it a few days. Also make sure that you dont have the tank in actual daylight.
Looks like it. You can physically remove it with your hands but try to get it all to make sure it won't grow anymore. Some hermits will eat it as will some other crabs. Good luck in getting rid of it but remember algae generally only grows when something in your water is off.
I had an additional 245gph powerhead in that same tank and it fixed my cyano problem. You could also look into changing the return pump for a better one as well.
As long as you dont have any high flow corals you shouldnt have to have it on. But from personal experiences with same tank and powerhead. I left them on all the time.
I would most definitely add another power head. Especially if you plan on having corals that require high flow. Also you can just syphon the algae out when you do your PWC's.

I know it might be a little smaller of a tank then you are thinking of but the same mechanics apply. Also IME you can make a sump/fuge diy out of the larger Aquaclear filters.

For a video on that mod.
It's an acrylic tank you should honestly go ahead and install and overflow and drill it out to use a legit sump/fuge.
No risk of it breaking and you will have much better filtration.
Also just IMO that would make a sweet Mantis Shrimp tank.
IME Damsels can be kind of bullies. Also technically Clowns are Damsels. I personally would just get rid of the Damsels and pick up the Clowns. Way more entertaining and get along with just about anything.
