75 BIG BAD GALLONS OF PLANTED GREEN & FISH (work in progress)[many pix i prmomis]

I really like that tank. Mine is starting to look like a weedy mess. I'm thinking I might need to thin and rethink. Great looking tank. There's something to be said for a more minimal approach. dale

Sharing, my desk at night :-)

They are funny to watch. During the day they are practically invisible. At night I can see them on the large driftwood standing proudly on top like they are king of the hill. Funny things. dale

    My fish cam

I'd do that if I had a faster connection. I'm running over DSL and it's also my home office connection (I work from home.) I don't wanna PO my DSL provider with either a full time connection or uploads every second. Unfortunately I live in BFE and it's the best I can get out here. The US has...

    Cover or no cover?

As posted in another thread I have a new 75 gallon that's intended to be a planted / community aquarium. I have noticed from looking at some photos of others' tanks that tank covers (the glass part) seems to be optional? What is typical? I notice that with the covers there is a great deal of...

    New planted tank!

Well there isn't much to see. I finally filled with water today. I waited a few hours and checked parameters. PH 7.8 (we have a community well), Ammonia is .25, guess we have ammonia in the tap water. Is that good, bad or indifferent? The water was run through a canister type filter on the...

    New planted tank!

Actually I already have the substrate. I bought the aquariumplants.com substrate before I read here to find out it seems to be a repackaged product. I have no qualms with going with CO2. One of my hobbies is homebrew, I have several spare CO2 tanks and regulators.

    New planted tank!

Hi. I am a n00b to these forums. I've had many aquariums in the past, the largest being a 55 gallon with a pair of tiger oscars. It has been about 15 years since I've had any tank at all though. My how things have changed. There's much I never knew before. There are so many new toys and...
