Ruadh would be correct. The colorful ones with the bright orange flash across them would be the male odessa barb. I have females & males. You can see the tail end of the female. Ive been trying to get some real nice shots of them.. as they can be just as colorful. davE

    Urgent Question regarding "Seachem Prime"

About a month or so ago I bought a 2L bottle of seachem prime (bigalsonline) I didn't notice last time, but today when I did a PWC I opened the bottle of the seachem and it smelled awful! re pungently bad like rotten eggs. I also noticed there is stuff floating inside of it. I know for a fact...

Pics of my tank so far!!

I cant really tell but is it your wall that is painted green? I think a glossy black background or even a themed one would do your tanks wonders.. *hint* when putting up a background use some olive oil and a credit card to smooth out the bubble.. you wont believe the difference from just taping...

    Ich on my cardinal ?

I did the heat treatment for ich for about two weeks in all total. I do now not believe the two white spots to be Ich as they have not gone away. The fish seems as active and healthy as always.. no flashing.. he eats.. and theres no other abnormal behavior. I have not been able to see the color...

    Fantail with odd attitude!

First I'm glad you and your daughter have decided to take part in this great hobby. Unfortunately 3 days is not long enough for a tank to "settle" or as we like to call it "cycle". A process in which beneficial bacteria is accumulated on the substrate, filters, ornaments etc. Which in turn help...

    My Tanks (From Denmark)

wow those look sweet. Love the cichlid tank. I went to that site expecting it to be another "shipping to the lower 48 states only" or 100's of dollars to ship across the border.. and what do ya know its canadian :D not exactly on my side of the country but still.. I definatly plan on supporting...

    Howdy

You could even go one step futher and place one of your old gross slimey filter pads in the tank thats cycling. This will vamp up the cycle considerably more.. as the old filter sponge will be full of beneficial bacteria.. good luck -davE

Cant believe you live in Malaysia.. you don't even need a LFS (local fish store) you just need to go down to the rivers and pick out everything you want :D haha I realize its probably not exactly like that but still :D welcome!

    Just joined...

Yeah converting the sw to a freshwater could be a bit of a pain in the butt. If it were me doing it, Id honestly consider scrapping the whole wet/dry trickle filter as a) its really ment more for a sw aquarium b) canister filters are a breeze to maintain and operate and are well worth the money...

    Howdy

Well I'm glad to hear your intending on doing a cycle for your next setup.. and that your doing all you can for that black moor from realizing your mistakes the first time. You are probably having ammonia problems because a goldfish even a common goldfish let alone your fancy should not be kept...

    Filter system

haha . Well brutus is just stating the truth. There isent much else if you dont want HOB, Canisters, undergravel, or a sump in the case of SW.. you really would have to do 100% water changes or i dont know.. keep a tank full of water and nothing else.. before you go all defensive think about...
