We use indian almond leaves in our betta tanks to lower the PH

If adding Sea Shells to a fresh water tank, make sure you clean them with plenty of freshwater...a friend of mines daughter, collected some shells from the beach went home and put them stright in the tank, lost 7 goldfish.
