This is the first time I have seen this in my tank, and have no idea what it is.....help!

It looks like a spider coccoon attached to my live rock. Any ideas? This is the best pic I can get.

I turned on my tank lights this morning and saw something I've never seen before. There were a bunch of these small creatures roaming my live sand, like cockroaches. I did some research, and think they are some kind of pod. I think they're the undesirable type. I need some other opinions.

I keep finding red hermit legs scattered throughout my tank. I actually found a live crab that is missing all of his legs on one side. Do they grow back, or do I now own a handicap hermit? I have it in a floating QT, but am wondering if I'm wasting my time. Any thoughts?

When I first set up my tank, a little over a month ago, I noticed what looks like a mussel shell in my live sand (pic on left). Tonight I noticed what looks like a new critter (right), similar to what I found in the sand. Do you know what this is?
