i have a via aqua 55w power compact lighting system it has two 21" 55w bulbs i can only find 65w bulbs will they work with my ballast? How many hours are these bulbs good for? thanks

thanks that really puts it into perspective i decided not to put it in my tank not because of chemicals i would have made it with silicone but because i could not make it perform steadily

no i would not trust them entirely but if they gave me a very sound explanation as to why it is okay including chemical names or some credible link i might take their advice

well if nobody can tell me it is safe i wont risk it and i will use silicone

i built a skimmer out of coke bottles are they safe for my reef tank? i used duct tape on the prototype and am testing that in my waste water from a water change. are there any tapes that would be safe for my tank? or do i need to use silicone?

mudfrog: they hitchhike on live rock they can be dangerous to corals copepod: i lifted the rock up exposing it to light so i think i put it into shock then i put it in vinegar and tossed it in the flowerbed

copepod i had tried a few traps with no success then yesterday i was rescaping the rocks and this guy was lying under one so i grabbed it with tongs to get i out i feel good that i shared the "joy" now :)

in my 100g cichlid tank there are a few hundred eggs on a rock that two of my blood red parots are guarding. i think they may be from my ruby scats as they are the only obvious pare, they also try to visit the eggs but the parots drive them off. what should be or could be done to try and hatch...
