    Salinity Sudden Change

I accidently changed my salinity from 1022 to 1024 with a water change. Is it best to leave it now, as trying to keep changing it will just add extra stress to the fish?? I have clownfish and fire goby but both seem unaffected so far ( 20 mins later ) and did feed when I put some flakes in...

    Bio load question

Urm i dont consider 175l tank to be nano. I have a 25 litre tank and that is a nano and I almost have same stocking level as you I have fire fish, clown and damsel with 2 crabs and several soft corals. You could add alot more fish to that tank, just make sure you have sufficient filtration...

My Nano Reef And New skimmer

Most agree with that my 5g has over 3KG live rock and still could do more...... more the better as it really helps with removing nitrates for biological filtration

    Lighting for nano question????

Remember its really PAR that matters not Watts per gallon. My 5 gallon has such small volume of what and low water depth that my 15watt light is very effective

    Lighting for nano question????

You were told wrong. I run a 15w PC light on my 5g nano tank and I sustain all soft corals easily. I think 18w would be fine on your tank for basic corals.

    9 gal nano reef build

On my 5g I run some GFO in my small internal filter and a 900l/h koralia power head. Thats it. Had a small skimmer but saw no difference with or without. If anything since I have removed it i now have 0.5ppm nitrates at most

Nano with 0 Phosphate and Nitrate

Just get confused. Why some people say no fish in my tank yet I have what is considered a large bioload and still have low nitrates. You can stock as heavy as you want in my eyes, just the heavier you go the more work to maintain parameters?

    sand turning orange

orange tint is most likely diatoms which use silicates not phosphate or nitrate. Try running some GFO to clear the silicates and it should go.

    Nano!!!!

my 4 gallon pico has 1 clownfish, 1 fire goby, 2 crabs and several low light corals. All ok with zero algae and 0.03 p04 and only 2ppm nitrate

    Testing kit suggestions please!

Same, main ones you need after you have cycled etc is Salifert for Phosphate and Nitrate... keep them at zero and all is good

Nano with 0 Phosphate and Nitrate

Nope both my D&D and Salifert test kit show nitrate under 1ppm and have only seen it as high as 2ppm. I dose vodka and have lots of live rock so assume they are using it up aswell as the xenia. I have zero algae and lots of pink coralline.
