My Blue Tang has ick and also has a an open wound not related to the ick. I believe another fish caused the wound. I want to copper this tang in a QT. Will the copper make the wound worse? Will the tang suffer being in copper with an open wound? Thanks

I'm surprised its doing a little better. It's found a place where it has stayed for the last few days. It actually ate a small piece of shrimp I fed it. I also see some tentacles starting to slowly grow in. So I'll continue to monitor it and see how it does.

From what Floyd desribed it sounds like a feather duster as it has the fine little hairs. I have dealt with Aptaisa in the past so it doesn't look like that. So its sounds like a feather duster, should I try to get it off some how? I'll see tonight if the zoas open up under the light.

Not sure if this pic is any better. If it is just a featherduster should I still go down and try to pull it off with tweezers? I got another frag of zoas that opened up the day I got them and are still open even with the lights off. Thinking this featerduster is keeping them from opening.

I just got a new frag of zoas yesterday. They haven't opened yet. I noticed this featherduster looking thing in the middle of the zoas. It closes if you try to touch it and it opens if left alone. Not sure if this is the reason my zoas aren't opening. Anyone know what it is?

I attached the best pic I could get of it. You can see from side how it is elevated off the skin. A pic directly from the side doesn't show it, I can't even see it that good from the side when I look at him because its white on white. Any clues on this?

I have a new clownfish in a QT. I think it has ick. So I will treat with Copper. I have hob filter running carbon. During the Copper treatment I have read that I should take the carbon out, but does that mean that I can still leave the hob filter running with the mesh that holds the carbon?

Ok Thanks. I think I notice 1 white grain of salt looking thing on the white part of the clown. I don't want to misdiagnose like I did last time which did not end good. So I will do copper just to be safe since it won't hurt either way.

I have a clown fish in a quarantine tank right now. He currently has no signs of any diseases but after battling Ich in the past I am paranoid and I would like as a preventative matter to dose QT with Copper. Will that hurt or kill the fish if it ends up being it had no diseases to begin with?

I guess I should of answered my own question as I have not quarantined in the past and now have to deal with the long hard process of ridding your tank of ich. Maybe I'll just go with a pair instead as that should be easier to quarantine in a 10 gallon with tight lid that I have. Does anyone...
