Ok that's annoying I've come home from work today and I have this brown algea on the glass and leaves and it looks horrible. How do I get rid?

Thanks for the compliment .Yes the background was made of sponge. I just wasn't happy with it I didn't want it to get clogged up with algae and whatnot and look a total mess, so I took it out. I bought it on eBay can't remember how much for tho.

Yes my tank is 20" wide but my only concern is that the fixture is very thin its only about 4" across and won't cover all of the tank. It's hard to explain.

Oh ok well it's just that I was looking at increasing the light maybe but there's not really a light fitting that goes with my tank! And besides I already have all the stuff I need to use co2 all I need is a defuser and a refill on the canister witch is like £20 at my lfs.

Ok so what would happen to my plants if I introduced co2. ( considering my lighting & sachem flourish I use)?

ok i bought some fish today i got 8 neon tetras 3 super blue emperor tetrs and 3 orange shrimps. and also adde a couple of new plants the other day.

Well the test kit is only about a year old so I'll keep testing to see how it goes.

Ok I've put some fish food in on Monday and today the results are as follows Ammonia 0.1-0.2 Nitrite 0-0.1 Nitrate 10-20 Not too sure what this means tbh! I don't think the test kit I have is that accurate it's a big Hagen test kit I bought when I had my salt water tank. Advice would be...

Thanks a bunch. Correct I have no fish. I'm not using ammonia and I am using the filter media from my old aquarium. It'd been cycling for about 2 weeks now I think.

wow your 90g planted is awesome. i suppose you are using co2, ferts and high lighting?

cool. i dont know if ill just have gouramis as tankmates tho not sure yet. i planted the plants today they look pretty cool. and done a water test to see were i was. ph high 7. nitrite 0. nitrate 5-10. ammonia 0.1 (i think):( so i done a 10% water change! (i probably could do with some guidance tbh)
