I have xm 10k's w/2 80w actinics and the tank looks great. the guy who helped me with my canopy even liked them. on my upgrade I think i'll stick with xm bulbs. I was told to do straight t5's but I like the shimmer effect of the MH's.
my unit leaks also but it only does it if the ASOV engages. I guess the pressure build up is to much for it. I have to check everything over but I just haven't had the time.
I agree with Mitchell0605. Do your research on the coral first. I made some newbie mistakes with some of the corals that I bought and wish I didn't purchase them now. The clicking could be your clown fish. I've read that clown fish snap their jaws and make this sound. Do you have the...
Is the plastic bin your ATO? if so, how is the sump underneath holding up? I was thinking about something like that but I'm afraid that the weight of the ATO reservoir would be too much. I was thinking about a 10g tank.
Also no mater how much you try you will get water on the floor. I have wood floors so every time I do anything with my 110g or 29g BC I always have a beach towel on the floor.
Do what you can as far as size. Bigger isn't always better. Remember you'll need more space, water, salt, sand and LR and all of your equipment will have to be upgraded. plus the electrical bill will go up considerably.
I guess this will also work on hydroids. I think I have some on my LR. I thought they were small feather dusters until I read a post about them. thanks cmor for the tip. Could a skimmer be added to the tub(s)?
I like the concept of the ATS but I don't want/like having to use more lighting(read more electricity) to clean my tank of nutrients. Plus having to replace the bulbs adds to the expense. If you look at his design, as nice as it is. It's VERY PRICEY! I've been reading about RDSB's lately and...
WOW only .99 cents! I wish I lived outside on NJ! Everything here is so d!@# expensive. Do a bigger water change to see if that helps to and let us know what the liquid test kit tells you.good luck.
STOP using the strips!!!they suck big time!! Get yourself a liquid test kit for the ph. make sure it's not expired or close to expiration when you buy it. I use two liquid test kits for my more important tests. That way I can compare the two results. I had super high nitrates with one test...
Where do you have the tank? I have the same problem except my ph doesn't get that low. I read that excess CO can cause the ph to go down low. All my parameters are perfect. I would do a water change then a day or two later my ph would drop again. Try opening a window to let fresh air into...
Both lights should work fine. I have a current HO 36' 4 t5 light over my 110g tank for now. I'm waiting until the guy who built my canopy has time to install my real lights. Let me tell you this light is bright. I can only imagine my MH's over the tank.
