Just run the back portion of the hood open with the fan.

The 12" baffle seems pretty tall remember you have to leave room for water to drain back into the sump.

Is the plastic bin your ATO? if so, how is the sump underneath holding up? I was thinking about something like that but I'm afraid that the weight of the ATO reservoir would be too much. I was thinking about a 10g tank.

Also no mater how much you try you will get water on the floor. I have wood floors so every time I do anything with my 110g or 29g BC I always have a beach towel on the floor.

Do what you can as far as size. Bigger isn't always better. Remember you'll need more space, water, salt, sand and LR and all of your equipment will have to be upgraded. plus the electrical bill will go up considerably.

jcarl I like the wife's aqua scape better. One thing I noticed was that you had no union on the suction of the pump.

Both lights should work fine. I have a current HO 36' 4 t5 light over my 110g tank for now. I'm waiting until the guy who built my canopy has time to install my real lights. Let me tell you this light is bright. I can only imagine my MH's over the tank.

Just get base rock and some small pieces of LR. $9 a lb for LR is crazy.
